And I'm not entitled rmk808. I have gone through launches like this and worse. I've been locked out of a 60 dollar game for over two days on launch because the whole game was online only (Diablo 3). Many people across the world couldn't play for the first few days.

 

Sims city, a game nowhere near the scale of GTA nor has the following and they had an even worse launch. When a game is based online, problems are expected. The problem with Internet connections is all it takes is one small problem and it can become something massive.

 

Not to mention, there's no way they could beta test online and replicate the amount of players they would have playing. Games being too popular is now a real thing, having too large of a following has actually always been a bad thing for launches. Even world of war craft had a sh*tty launch and the game was designed to host thousands upon thousands of players on one server.

 

These kind of things are just flat out nearly impossible to avoid until these teams can get actual experience in handling millions of users all at once and maintaining a smooth playing product. They warned us they knew there would be bugs, they said it would be rough. Nothing other than what happened should have been expected. Not many games can hold millions of people all at once, and those that do, have been around for a while and likely had a bad launch too.
