I waited an hour for the First Race to start. Finished it, now I have waited another hour for whatever happens next, to happen. I just see a gray cloud, hear a lot of pedestrian conversations and get constant play hints in a black box down in the left corner! Since I've waited this long, I'll wait it out for real.

I've been online for around 2 hours. I first was just dumped into the online with no jobs, missions, or objectives available. I messed around for a bit then restarted.

 

It then put me in the tutorial, the race started up without a hitch, and I have been doing jobs and progressing as the game intended.

 

I am on PS3.

Worked fine last I checked. Got into free roam after initial missions, walked around, punched a bitch.

some people have luck and get on and even do missions others can't connect to the cloud so that kinda stops everything for them.

I just spent the last hour grinding a f*cking mission that makes me $9,000 + 1250 RP points SOLO every 5 minutes. Accumulated over $120,000 and leveled up twice to 21. Then I decided I'm done for now let me hop into free-roam..... NOPE.avi. I get f*cking thrown to single player and I get the feeling all that hard work I just did was all for f*cking nothing.

Rockstar, honestly, f*ck you. This is pathetic given you took an extra 2 weeks post launch to push this service online. If that wasn't enough time to figure out how heavy the stress would be on your servers (given they were pretty much down the entire time during the 2 week single player window) I expected you to be prepared for this. You're obviously not.

 

Oh and thanks for keeping us posted on exactly what the situation is, or ya know, for telling us "hey guys maaaaybe you should try not to play Online right now because yeaaaah everything you work on could potentially be wiped when you quit." F*CKING GG.

Works for me or was I just got off hoping that wont have any problems getting back on. I did have trouble trying to connect at first directly to Online. So I did solo and was able to complete first race and a mission after that then tried to join Online and connected with no problems and played for the next 3 hours. Got kicked twice saying it was by other players but it seems to me like it is just glitched. You cannot join or invite friends and you cannot remove mask after robing stores. Only problems I have encountered. Other than that its f*cking awesome. Teamed up with some random guy and I drove around robbing store after store-in my Gauntlet. He would place the waypoint for next store and split the take after each robbery. We made good money quick up to about 20 grand now. Had a couple guys try to kill me and I put them in their place real quick and that ended that lol. Cops in Online are no joke and it makes it all that much better. Still yet to get killed or busted though. Came close after about a 10 minute chase with 4 stars. had one tire popped but managed to break LOS just long enough to make it to LSC. No real lag at all. Some pop in but doesnt ruin the fun. Only saw one warping car but thats probably due to them having a complete sh*t connection. When your riding passenger in another guys car its not warping and floating all around like in IV.

 

Coop missions are awsome and will be even better when you can play with your friends. Having trouble finding races and deathmatches because still a lot of people cant get

on..

 

My character and progress was saved also so that must only be for some people. Happend to my friend he said he couldnt connect to cloud and lost all his progress but i didnt have that problem.

It is experiencing some issues now. Matchmaking doesn't seem to be working, and the cloud servers are down. I don't recommend playing when the cloud is down unless you don't care about saving your progress.
