Stuck on "launching session"

Was at first happy to see the game was working now, but when im joining the first race im just sitting at "Launching session" now, wonderful. Anyone know if its going to do this forever or does it take longer than 3 minutes to connect? Because thats how long its been right now.

Same exact thing going on for me. I thought the game froze after I created my character, it took awhile for it to save and continue.

it took about five minutes for me & then started me in a one on one race with Lamar

 

It froze after completing the race, I left it for ages, then quit re-started and was at least able to start a solo session and complete the tutorial section.

Ditto. Small progression is better that being stagnant. The intro music can get tiresome after a while tho while waiting...

Oh GTA Online, how you disappoint me. It was a complete mistake taking profile saves to "the cloud".
