Can't get to the Lamar Race How long should I wait?

So I get dropped off at the race and get stuck standing around with 4-5 other players with nothing going on. Should I continually wait or keep starting over. I've started over about 3 times now. Anyone have similar issues?

I had same issue with the avatar I made last night. Try making another character from your second avatar slot. I did and am online now. I think my first character had a bad save from yesterdays server problems. Try this and see if it works

I don't think I can even do that. Only way to get out of this holding phase is to quit the game, when I do that my character is gone and I have to create a new one. I've created characters 5 times now lol

I waited for over 10 minutes before the race started with just me and Lamar.

So...yeah, I dunno. If the blue bars with players and other stuff are on the top, and you can hear people talking or can hear sounds when you press buttons, I'd just try to wait it out.

I had tried this, this morning, but same problem. When I get home tonight I'm gonna try about everything I can come up with to see if I can get online, but somehow I doubt I'll be successful ha

The blue bars are there, I can hear people talking but no button presses or anything. It's been about 20 minutes again....this blows!

I kept getting stuck there too. It finally changed to where I could pick my car to race Lamar. It only happened when I made the new character in the other slot. I wish u guys best of luck getting on.

 

I had to take a break but I won't even log out for fear of never gettin back on again

I tried last night. Waited over an hour. This morning around 9:30am cst I was waiting for about 40mins or so. If you have a headset ask the other players to wait as long as possible. There were 7 of us and then an 8th popped in and the race started. I know its hard to think of anything else right now but have patients.

it didn't load for me when i seen the people standing in a group. i backed out (of the entire game) and tried again. this time i got a blurry city with a lobby board. i waited maybe 3-4 minutes and that screen actually worked.

If you timeout after the race, try solo mode to get the rest of tutorial done. Good luck all.

I was having this problem, I finally just left it at that spot with other people waiting around and went to bed. When I got up this morning I had been DC'd for idling, but I was pass the damn race and onto the second mission which I completed with no problems.

I waited 30 minutes last night. Then did the second character slot and was racing in less than 5 minutes.

I did get dropped back into SP twice and only played for about an hour. Going back to online was pretty quick each time.

It seems that the first character slot that everyone used to make an avatar on yesterdays servers may have problems, try using a fresh character made today in the secondary character slot, others posts have shown that people are online and playing now (PS3)
