Im just staying away from online until its properly running smoothly because atm it is completely f*cked. Did a bunch of robberies, got myself 20k pretty quickly, then decided to jump into a mission... the game hung in transition, left me floating for about 10 minutes, nothing doing. I restarted GTA, jumped online to pick up where I left off and my character was gone. I had saved the game/character/money prior to that, and still lost everything. I think I'll be waiting for a few holes to be plugged before I board this ship again. Back to trying to 100% SP for a bit I guess. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JmanBassman Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 There's a possibility that your characters still exists in the cloud but every time you recreate a new person it'll surely overwrite it when you do log on...try and create a person in ur second slot and leave the first one and hope it comes back when your server sorts it self out. If you then choose to proceed and ignore that, as I found, I takes you to the new character area and chucks you in a game with your new character. A friend of mine last night did manage to somehow get past the cloud down part, got his character and continued. Yes he didn't mess too much with the modes because they wont work properly, but you guys not reading the clear message is why you have gone and made 10 different characters. I did it as my main character wont get past the race, but that's what you have done there. If you don't believe it go retry and read this time. On my 4th, after finishing the tutorial, i had a message pop up saying connection to cloud re-established and autosave was enabled. Didnt get that msg the first few times so im hoping this guy sticks around. Edit: I just checked my iFruit app & it still shows my car in LSC for my online guy so it seems that the cloud saved it properly this time round. I expected more from a fellow saints fan, firstly it never said that my character would not be saved and i never got the error message and secondly the cloud is messed up for a lot of people, they couldn't of all misread it now surely? Only way for your character to permanently delete is if you make another character or spam retry as it will overwrite said character when the servers go back online. Havn't lost a single thing since day 1 following these simple steps and knowledge of how your games client communicates with the servers. This was on October 2nd, my character was saved and I'm currently level 1 Hundred and FIVE. I miss Breaking Bad though. Yes... that show was deff a good one. At least they ended it at a good time before they ran it through the ringer and beat it to death (like how it happens to some good series').
