Variant2010
You all obviously haven't played an MMO before during a huge launch have ya? This is NOTHING compared to some of the launches I've experienced. I already got my rank up to level 10 last night, and the online portion of it ran SMOOTH. So, I am actually impressed. On all the other launches I've experienced, I wasn't even able to move for about 2 days until they fixed the problems. Once everything smooths out, everything will be fine, and you'll all be happy. (Well, most anyway, there are those few that can't be happy with a video game cus "IT NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!") And before I'm called a Rock Star Fan Boy, stop there, cus I am not. This is the very first Rock Star game I have owned, Hell, I'm usually a PC player, and this is the first console game I've bought in about a year or so...Last one was Skyrim. Also, Rock Star, where are your forum mods at? I am an admin for a small indie MMO community, and if the forums were like this, we would be go on banning waves. You all remind me of a bunch of babbling, children. Oh yes, also, for the people saying they had 2 weeks to prepare for the launch, you have to understand something...There are millions of people trying to log on, all at once, completely flooding the servers. With my knowledge as a programmer, I know that technology can sometimes be completely unpredictable. Sometimes, there are bugs that you do miss when writing the code, and you have to go back and put a patch through, fix it, whatever. This is not that bad of a launch. You all are blowing it out of proportion. I vote for mods to go on a freaking crusade and drop the ban hammer on these people bringing this community down. notatrolljustbeinghonest
To be honest I and many others can't access online, while it can be caused by many things it is still a very bad launch...How can you say otherwise?

Coral_City
This isnt a R* forum. Yes, but Rockstar does read this forum for feedback. Just barely. We don't know how often. As for OP, the complaints are valid.

yakuza warlord
This is just embarrassing. We are filled with a bunch of teenagers who want to go to school the next day and say "yeah I was totally the one who started the whole R* is lying fiasco, I cant believe this injustice, they are literally EA and Hitler". When somehow R* managed to sell more copies of the game than people on this earth and somehow people are dumbfounded that the servers were overloaded on the first day? Just an absolute embarrassment. About 80% of GTA V owners can't still get online. Just because you can get online doesn't erase the other 80%. 80% of 30 million is 24 million. So you are the lucky 6 million out of the 30 million copies out there.
igotspie
To be honest I and many others can't access online, while it can be caused by many things it is still a very bad launch...How can you say otherwise? People defending the launch aren't saying it wasnt a "bad" launch, they are saying thinking it was going to go any other way was silly. It is just not economically feasable to cover the day 1 traffic bottle neck when in a week or two from now the traffic could be as little as 10% of what it is now. With that said I don't think anyone thought it was going to go from 0 to 15 million+ in 1 day like it did.

I didn't say this was an MMO retard. I never implied this being an MMO retard. But it DOES have as many players; if not more, trying to connect on the first day of launch....SORT of like MMO's do...Retard. It uses servers as any other multiplayer game. For example battlefield 3. There is no different between this game server vs gta iv game server. It's the same type and model of servers. Just different code running on it. Have you ever heard of matchmaking? There are still lobbies like any other game. It's just running behind the scene. The server matchmaker puts you in a lobby with 15 other people. Just like any other game. The difference is it's doing it behind the scene. You don't see it and you don't have a say on what lobby you want. Unless you want to hi your crew or friends lobby.
HANK3Y-PANK3Y
I was also able to play the game no problem at all. My online doesn't work ATM, but I've played it enough and am up to level 18. What people don't understand Is that reporting the problems to Rockstar themselves Is a helluva lot better than flaming up forums and the internet just ranting on how stupid this whole fiasco has been. Complaining about not getting online won't do anything to help speed the process of fixing It one bit. Reporting what exactly you are having problems with to R* does.
