Interesting development on PS3!

So I deleted my character and created a new one.

When I clicked "save and continue", instead of playing the cutscene, i literally fell from the sky right where the cutscene WOULD have started. By the Vinewood sign.

 

Not only do I now see missions and waypoints everywhere, but it started me with $2,631 cash and $7,743 in my bank....this is strange, right?

Its a server error and this corrupts your character. You need to reload GTA Online.

From what Ive been hearing if you get dropped by the Vinewood sign your character is likely to be lost.

By log out, do you mean simply switching to single player and back? Or actually quitting the game and reloading it?

Oh ya, OK so now the cutscene is playing..

Am now waiting on "launching session " while standing in the street and listening to Steve Miller Band lol.

 

Still have the cash tho.

My guy got through to the tutorial after a 10-20 minute wait, and then somehow had 10,000 in the bank and 2,000 in cash.

Then the game corrupted when Simeon was supposed to give me a job.

It started the cutscene, went to the first race, auto walked into the blue circle, "waiting for other players", screen goes black but my guy is free falling lol, suddenly I'm standing in the middle of the street with a blue "settings","players", and "details" tabs up top and a "launching session" icon on the bottom right. I can actually hear other people talking on their mics. I feel close...

I was dropped behind the vinewood sign earlier as well, and I ran around and I lost connection. I never lost my character. It still sits there waiting for me to go online with.

This happened to a bunch of people yesterday, including myself, this is nothing new. I even posted screenshots of when I fell right by the highway after falling behind the Vinewood sign. There's no progress, nothings changed.

I can hear people talking on their mics every time I try the first race.

I'm connected to the servers, there is just some glitch in game.

Pretty sure there needs to be a patch in order to fix it.
