Online, but can only use temp character?

Is there any way to save my temp char as my perma char eventually? What I don't get is why I'm now able to PLAY online, but not use my characters? O.o

I guess there is like two type of server, one type for the world and one for saves and the one for saving is probably down

From what I understand, if the cloud server is down, which it seems to be, you can play a temp and it'll save...somewhere. But your mains will be in the actual cloud server when it comes up. So it's like two different sets of save areas for characters. Idk for sure either though.

Basically what he said, your saves go on onto what rockstar calls there "cloud server" Thats where all your online information including your character and other things get stored. If its not working, you can't write or read from it. So no, you can't save anything you're doing now.

Yeah sure me too yesterday , i've been playing for like 10 hours until i had to log off and then impossible to play again
