You don't have the faintest clue what you're talking about, do you? 'Phobia' perfectly describes the irrational and hateful responses people have towards certain groups.

 

I think that, from my point of view, op is confusing 2 different terms. There's phobia in the context of psychopathology, wich is identifiable by DSM criteria: something that causes high suffering to someone or people arround, impossibilitates that someones objectives, has deep cultural implications, etc...

 

This "phobia" in psychopathology context is not to be confused with the term phobia meaning "aversion to. Transphobia is not necessarly a psychopatology, it is rather a term to describe aversion towards trans...

GTA, like South Park, holds the belief that no subject is off limits to make jokes out of. I find it quite hypocritical that people are happy to laugh at jokes targeted at other subjects, but then take offence when they happen to touch on something that affects them.

I also want to point out that you only know that THOSE particular characters are transgendered because they say so. How do you know there aren't other transgenedered NPCs in the game that act like normal NPCs? (Normal being something like complaining that they didn't get a movie part even after sleeping with the director, because it's a GTA game.)

 

You could never know, so this parodying a small subset of transgendered people who may or may not dress up in loud colors and complain about the pills not working isn't a sleight to ALL TRANSGENDERED PEOPLE EVERYWHERE THAT EVER LIVED.

 

But you know, whatever, carry on with completely missing the point of the characterization of people in the GTA universe. I'm done trying to explain to people why that line of thinking is stupid as sh*t.
