If he is, its probably just random. Don't think its location specific. Its just who ever is lucky to get through the queue atm.

Also, i am aware that there is already a poll up about this but the poll is old with like 500 votes already, and since rockstar is progressing in fixing this, more and more people are being allowed to connect.

I'm going to say no, based on the fact that I have one character who passed the tutorial and can do free roam (and only free roam) and one character that can't get past the tutorial race.

Wow, for the first time in 30 hours the intro mission is loading for me on PS3

It works for me some times, but I find it really buggy. Like joining jobs fails at times and when my character gets loaded back into the free roam world, my controls don't work. Like, my guy is standing there and I can hear other people on their mics... Some times I can even hear people getting into shootouts near me. But no controls work, not even the start button. It's really freaky, man.

I haven't been able to play GTA Online yet. About a dozen attempts to get on with my XBOX have failed. The only good thing is that is that in each attempt I've been able to get a little bit further before the game crashes, although I have yet to make it to the initial race. Hopefully it will be fixed by the time the weekend rolls around.

Yes, my trick (PS3) was to create new avatar in the other slot. My first guy I think is corrupt from yesterdays server fiascos. My new guy started right up and I'm lev 5 now.

You need a "sometimes" option. I was able to play for about a total of ten hours yesterday.

Today, I log in - "You need to create a temporary character."

I back out, join back in (with my original character) and cars go at half the speed they're supposed to.

I back out, restart my modem, router, and 360, and now I can't join any server.

I just got some gameplay online. Won a match now stuck in the sky loading.... Dude this is so unfun with loading times and it's not even server stuff. You have to wait 20 seconds just to finish the score board

Same here. It was working perfectly fine, tried to get back on later and my character and everything is gone -_-
