Seriously there has been a pretty clear cut lack of communication between us and Rockstar since the game released.

Maybe they really screwed something up and are too afraid to admit it? Its possible.

Actually, they did fix something. I know because I can now connect with a PS3 to GTA Online and get passed the first race, and I was in a full room with other players.

 

Also, there was an update that was posted yesterday, so you can't really say they aren't communicating either (unless your definition of "communicating" is either directly sending you a personal email [like the world revolves around you] or them telling you that they've fixed all the issues): http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51512/grand-theft-auto-online-launch-updates.html

I think what he means is that the last update was yesterday. We're now in day 3 and haven't heard anything. For all we know the offices could be empty.

Character deleted as well (Level 14, tad under $90k), the issue that I have is that my brother, whom is playing literally a few feet from me, his character is fine and dandy. Is the consensus at this point just to wait it out and hope that the 'deleted' characters are saved somewhere? I just don't understand how his is fine however mine is not, wouldn't that mean that the Cloud Servers are in fact up?

As I just wrote in another thread, I've lost two characters (8-10)and the money (40k) in the bank account. At this point I think that waiting till they solve this problem is the wisest thing to do.

 

I'm really sorry for the users who lost high-lv characters and all the money. Hope you're gonna have them back.

Yes, it would be very wise to NOT make a character and take it seriously. Just wait it out, f*ck around, or play story mode.

That's wierd, I'm in the UK too and that's more or less the same time as when my character got deleted. Wonder if they were fiddling around with the servers over here at that time and it affected a few people?

 

 

 

I lost mine when i logged in about 16:00 hours too.

 

It was also not long after that, that the forums started filling with "server down" & "all my stuff gone" threads.

 

I haven't been able to get online since. The missus is now watching CSI instead.

If you make a character, just don't take it seriously and don't do loads of missions. Then you won't be too pissed if it gets deleted.

Lost rank 10. But still shows that i have 60k in the bank. I guess i will just leave it open and wait a few days for this to get fixed and maybe she will come back.

lost a lvl 4 or 5 character no big loss as i still atleast had the cash in bank so made a new one, with better driving stats at start ^^

ofc i wouldnt have made a new there if my lost was 7 or above ;-)

Then this morning i woke up and ive lost my lvl 10 character but still had my bank money ... so i waited a couple hours to see if he will come back but no luck so i created another character in the second slot to not overwrite my main character and played for couple hours with no problem and go to level 6 with all my bank money, then the servers came down and lost this character also a second time but still had my bank money again.

 

I waited a couple hours again to see if it will come back but no , but my money was still there and now i cheked it up again and now my money is gone too ! So two character lost and all my money too and they wont come back .

 

Im so pissed, it's been 24 hours since the last update of Rockstar there is a lack of communication going on !

And you are talking out your ass again.. You have no clue like anyone else and are not helping things by spreading false hope,.

Or call them there number is on that website, tell them they need to list this as issue and give updates

- I'm also one of those people who lost 2 characters. Rank 6, nothing special but it's a pain in the butt to start the intro and buy clothes etc. I saved over slot 1 for the first loss but this time I'll leave slot 1 alone and hope my character returns. You can tell something is playing up when you check the Online menu from pause menu.. you check out the Crews section and stuff, it says error sometimes and before it didn't. Actually, I can't even get online anymore.

Actually you are supposed to complain, Rockstar support does not monitor these forums for support issues.

:( lost both my characters in Slot 1 and 2. Now I am too nervous to bother making another character but I want to play online so bad. I'm hoping that as some have said that it magically just comes back. I wish I had more than 2 slots unlocked even though I'm tired of starting over each time. I'm on PS3 if that matters.

 

PS: I'm just venting, I already contacted rockstar on Twitter. No reply of course.
