Yeah I finally got online today with my PS3, had to make a new character. It says that their Cloud service is down and so saving is disabled so more than likely the character you make won't get saved. I was in a room with like 15 people, they kicked me because I was idle. Tried to do solo and my character is gone. Oh well, yeah I am not going to level up my character until I know R* fixed ALL the bugs.

Yeah I agree with you. It's f*cking normal after this mess that we even can not play properly everytime hoping that our character isn't deleted in the next few seconds.

When i boot up the game straight into online now, i get no message about the cloud server beeing down ( I did earlier).

And still both my characters are gone

The servers aren't even that messed up on the PS3. i think people thought that since 90% of the people could join now that it was safe to level up your char -_-

Just because you don't get a message saying the cloud is down, that does not mean everything is 100% and peachy. Wait for an announcement.

I just wish there was a way to tell if the cloud was up or down, because I truly dont know if i cant connecct to the cloud or if the chars are just gone

 

 

There is, go to menu in game and go to online then go down to Play GTA Online and read the text in the box on right(DO NOT CLICK PLAY)

 

It will say that the servers are unavailable or not

yestarday i had a Rank 11 with weapons and sh*t and today when i start the online i see this :

Which doesn't look at all like my character ... everything is at 0 but my bank account

I got the same thing last night.

Today, all my characters are gone.

Unless a lot of people claiming 'deletion' actually started a non save-able character...lol

My character disappeared too... although I noticed after playing singleplayer for a little while that a little orange GTAO loading bar appeared saying that it was 'syncing my stats' or something similar.

 

Unfortunately, my character, my seems to have disappeared permanently... unless it isn't loading for some reason... it is directly taking me to the character creation screen, however. No error messages at the moment. :/

People should learn to look around other threads before posting, and they would know the cloud servers are all f*cked up right now and that they will get their characters back. :lol:

Indeed. I don't know whether the cloud servers are back up right now, what with my little syncing message that I got. I can only assume that they're fluctuating every 5 seconds... I think the best course of action is to wait it out. It's all we can do.

 

Sure, I might be able to play, but if I can get my character back, I'll wait. :)

Level 10 30k had a garage already and was about to buy an apartment character deleted really annoyed. Especially after having to deal with the Race bug yesterday.

I know this is Off topic but i have a question that needs answering. If you buy an apartment on a random server, What will happen to it when you log in next time to a different server, theres a slim Chance your gonna get on that same sever. And the propertys cant stay with you through every server, thats impossible as theres limited Houses and millions of players..

I'm on PS3 btw:

 

Happy to report that my character just reappeared after rebooting the game again and loading straight into the character selection screen. I saw my stats and character level appear in the first character slot, then I selected said character slot.

 

However, it disappeared and a character creation screen popped up with a random woman with no stats as though I was going to create my character for the first time. When I backed out to the character selection screen, the stats and character level was gone.

 

So that at least proves that they do reappear! :)

 

Edit - The exact little message I'm getting in singleplayer is - "Loading GTA Online profile stats"

Servers just went back up: i got the loading stats while playing single player,

Char slot 1 is back, but my main in char 2 is gone, the char in slot 1 looks different and has all its stats changed

Did the little character switching icon return too? I'm scared for my character now... has anyone had theirs returned in one piece? :/

Absolutely nothing is showing for me... rebooting the game now to check. I just hope his face doesn't look drastically different. I spent ages perfecting how he looked (wrote down which grandparents I used though) as I was expecting the worst. Looks like I made the right decision! :D

 

Edit - After rebooting, I can confirm that both my crew and bank balance (which I believe is correct) is showing. No character though, as others have said. We're on the right track people! :)
