Official Character Deletion Thread

Just lost my rank 9 Character

Well my lvl 11 character is gone, hopefully it's not permanent. I can't get on GTA:O right now since cloud is messing up. If it's gone forever then I'm going to be disappointed. I was doing my best to save up a good amount of cash..

 

R* should have delayed the release even longer imo since it's pretty much being delayed anyways. There are way too many big problems going on.

Money sticks to the account. Seems that apartments stick to the account. But vehicles disappear.

 

Plus I lost I don't know how many ranks over the past 2 days.

 

Now I just lost a rank20

yes im guessing that we wont have out characters back since it stopped showing that it didnt connect to the clouds anymore although my character aint back

Its fine they'll come back when the cloud servers are back up. It says you can only access what is saved on your disc. Since all characters are saved on the cloud. Once there back up so will your characters be.

I have given up on the thought of chars coming back, ive left slot 2 open for many reconnects and only used char slot 1, but as the cloud goes up and down, char 2 aint coming back.

 

Atleast money is confirmed sticking to the account, are appartments aswell? Can anyone confirm appartments sticking to account?

Hoping by the time I get home tonight Cloud servers will be okay...don't wanna end up losing my character...he actually turned on looking bad ass.

I've only played solo sessions so far (as nothing else works for me on PS3), but so far, I've neither lost my character nor the apartment I was able to buy after a day of gameplay.

If the game tells you it can't load your character don't load anyways. Just keep re-trying till it loads.

...Just happened to me about 1hr ago. I knew it would eventually happen, but I just haaaad to keep on playing lol.

 

I guess you take that risk when trying to play when online features are unstable.

Lost a level 6 yesterday, created a new one which should now be a level 8 or 9, I don't remember. Either way, the cloud servers aren't working for me (360), so I can't access him at this time. hopefully that doesn't mean he's gone forever...again.

That the problem, the game doesnt tell me it cant load the cloud, i just join the game afte reboot and the chars are gone, and ive played for 2 hours on a different char slot, and it has been saved, but the old one aint coming back

Your characters are not deleted tho...

 

I thought mine was deleted... I shut of my xbox and re-loaded and he was back.

 

DON"T start a new character and save.. Then it will be deleted.

Update: When i remade a char now, after both my chars dissapeared, i had lost 20k, its just gone.

Don't f*ckin make a new character.Just keep trying to re-load you character. Don't take their bullsh*t.. You character is not gone.

I just wish there was a way to tell if the cloud was up or down, because I truly dont know if i cant connecct to the cloud or if the chars are just gone

Does your snapchat from galleries get stored on the cloud server?

Because that is a way of telling whether the cloud i up or down,

Im wondering that too, whether its fine to just go to SIngleplayer and then try to load your characters, or if you need to exit the game to reconnect to cloud servers

Sick of seeing hundreds of the same threads, and the character deletion threads seem to be the worst today. So here we go. Any character deletion questions/stories/rants post them here!

 

Yes, your character and his sh*t seems to be deleted!? Your ranks!? Apartment!? Oh no!? Well the cloud servers that your character/sh*t is saved to is constantly going up and shutting back down, so it could be that your character/sh*t is saved in the cloud server and when it shuts down you lose it for the time being. When the cloud server is back up, your character/sh*t may be as well.

 

You aren't the only one experiencing this, so if you are really that worried or frustrated, you should wait a bit before making an online character/sh*t. The servers are still glitchy, the cloud server is been up and down all day, so yeah.

Cloud server came up. And it went in fine. But now missions keep failing on startup lol.
