Fortunatly, i have been able to play GTA:O for the whole time its been out, but one lf my friends was having the same error as a lot of you guys.

 

Being stuck on the first race in the tutorial not being able to find players.

 

This is what he did to fix it (Xbox 360): Go to your settings and storage and delete the title update for gta v, then go back on gta and redownload it.

 

This might not work 100% but it worked for him and might work for some of you guys.

I stuck in that mission before.It kept saying waiting for other players, so I thought it was the severs problem, and I tried a few more time, and I could do that mission solo,(with Lamar(NPC))

Eventually you will have to do it with only Lamar to get past it.

When my friend redownloaded the update, it made him do it solo automatically

Mine got stuck on "launching session" for 5 minutes or so, then started playing voice chat from other players, while still stuck on "launching session" then eventually it entered the race with just me vs Lamar.

How do you do it solo?

 

Like i said before, you cant choose to do it solo, my friend just re downloaded the update and it made him do it solo.

Rockstar is getting overloaded, i think they under-anticipated how many were going to be trying to get online.

Yeah I agree, I have played some MMOs over the years and launch day has ALWAYs been a disaster. I guess I will have to wait. It got to the loading screen again so I'm going to wait 10min. If it doesn't go like some people have said I will then try your way and re install it. If it doesn't work then then I'm really out of luck

I live in Australia and i got the update at about 7pm and i think i was one of the first 5% of people that got on atleast. After that i have had a very smooth run and i am grateful of that.

Annnnnddddd I reinstalled.... Nothing. Stuck on "waiting for other players" well I tried. Ill try again next Thursday after my long as work week haha have fun guys

Ummm. That question isn't a valid one. All products are mass produced and are still being produced right now.

This is how i got this working... for awhile.

First i go to single player, then into multiplayer (pick solo) then i got into the race, finished the race but got kicked after it.

R* KNEW that this was going to happen, they said so themselves. BUT THEY TOOK NO STEPS TO PREVENT OR PREPARE FOR IT! They should be taking responsibility for their failure. They should let the community know EXACTLY WHY WE CANT PLAY. Instead of just leaving us in the dark....
