I couldn't steal someones car?!

I attempted to steal another GTA V online players car... it said that the car belonged to the other player and wouldn't let me in...

One of my PSN friends drove my car, wheter it allowed him because he was my friend or not i aint sure.

Hold select and it will bring up a menu, there's an option to only let you or friends use your car.

I was just trying it once to see what would happen, I am usually a very considerate player (if such a thing exists) ... I did get frustrated when it wouldn't work and I shot out all the tires while the guy was shopping for some clothes.... oops ...

You can only destroy people's card. If their car is a personal vehicle, ie they paid for insurance and a GPS tracker, you cannot enter it if they locked it. Locking your car is an awesome feature IMO.

When holding the back button (Xbox) you bring up a menu, scroll down to vehicle access and change it to who you want to beable to get inside.

Hell, I can't even drive my own car at times. It randomly locks itself. Usually it will spawn in a new one though

People can still blow the car up with guns or explosives if they can't get into your car.

And if you ditch your car while cops is after you and you get killed, they take the car into compound and will soonish destroy it.
