Recreating character everytime? Saving not working online?

Am I the only one who needs to recreate his character everytime when I start up GTA? Can't we save our progress yet in online?

Can't save to the cloud when the cloud keeps going offline.

No we can't save yet ...just give it some time.

Mine is saved and comes up on the character wheel, at least there's that.

 

I should at least be grateful for that. Hopefully it doesn't delete.

I had to recreate mine like 6 times yesterday, then the latter half of the day yesterday it stayed. Right now I just turned it on and when I went to character selection it said "cloud servers unavailable" so I hit retry and it worked, but my character was gone....

My character was gone (no big deal for me since I couldn't use him anyway) 'm making a new one now but I can't change clothing except hats and glasses and there's no name to put in before starting...at least we know they're physically working on some things now.

Yeah, they are definitely working out some kinks. After I finished my character they just placed me in the middle of the map and once it all loaded I got a new alert screen saying "Unable to connect to Rockstar game service...". So I'm guessing this is actually good and could lead to some online today eventually.

Same boat everytime now that it fails to do the first tutorial race I have to recreate my character. My characters were all saved when the cloud was up so this is just retarded.......
