Bounty Trolls

I was in a free roam and there are a couple rich trolls putting huge bounties on others who are minding their own business just to get them killed constantly. It happened to me too. I'm trying to do things on my own and out of nowhere there's a $9000 bounty on me and everyone's coming after me. Wtfff.

People are surprised by these things? You expect players not to mess around? Rockstar gave us these tools to use, but I guess we will only use them if EVERYONE in the room won't cry about it.

 

 

Go play solo or single player if it's going to bother you. You decided to play online, you decided not to roll with friends, it's literally ALL your fault.

 

Stop pushing blame, you probably blame your deaths on anything but yourself too.

Didn't get around to checking this out, as a matter of interest how do you place a bounty on another players head? The phone?

You have to unlock it from the first time you meet lester.

 

Also, use this to your advantage? Bank your cash and get a friend to join, kill you and claim the bounty, he then gives you half, you both make profit, happy days?

When you get higher rank (around 20) and you steal a car often times you'll get a random text message like "You f*cked with the wrong person" and then they will put a bounty like $7000 on your head.

If you have a bounty on your head, if you leave that session and join a new one does the bounty carry over? Or if you start a job and come back?

Just play invite only, easiest way to avoid the assholes

Who cares? So you get killed once and they're £9k out of pocket, let them at it if they wanna throw money around. As already said, you can make bank by getting a friend to off you and splitting the bounty, I'd message the troll afterwards and thank him for the easy $4.5k. What they gonna do, put another bounty on you?

Or just swap to another lobby where people are rather passive to one another. I've had about 3 lobbies where everyone was acting like it was a large deathmatch. However, every other lobby (about 15) that I've been in, people have kept to themselves and only go for you if you follow them/ram them or if you act like a weirdo.

 

Hell, I've even met a few people that I've randomly bumped into, given a lift somewhere and we've gone on to do missions or do a few robberies around LS. All depends on the lobby. Keep trying!

People are always gonna want to f*ck with each other and if you got money to spend, you can make alot of things happen. Play passive to avoid conflict. Remember when IV came out, and everyone just joined free roams and it was a giant FFA? Doesn't matter how much they change things, it's still the same.

I'm glad when someone put a bounty on me...because

First I get a mission or something to leave free roam, call my friend, join another free roam session and let him or her kill me, my friend got 9000 and share me 4500$, after paying 2000$ to the hospital, I earn extra 2500$....

You know what's really funny? It's not players putting the bounty on you. It's the NPC's. When you jack a NPC for their car or steal a car in front of one they will place a bounty on you. The NPC's are the ones doing it, not the trolls. The trolls are the ones collecting from it.

 

IMO this is great. This makes you keep track of your own car and have to drive your own car. Unless you always want to have a bounty on you, then by all means keep jacking them NPC's and i'll keep collecting them bounties.

Also if you survived a full in game day with the price on your head supposedly you get the bounty money. So this means it can be a way for you to make even more. Just have to survive.

I was hanging out with these 2 dudes, then some asshole put a 5k bounty on one of them, neither of us tried to kill him

You do indeed, aswell as a achivement the first time. *looks at his with pride*

 

 

However to the best of my knowledge npc set bounty maxes at 7k, and it only starts happening after your like 18+ or so.

 

 

Personally I am happy when I get a bounty, its a chance at some free cash money

I would find that fun trying to get away from everyone.

 

Also its quite easy to just join a new lobby.

 

Edit: Just read post above. I hope people put big bounties on me now Think ill start picking on some rich people to entice them lol

Really? Odd, because

when you meet Lester in Multiplayer, he lets you call him to put a bounty on people

. I've never had a bounty put on me and I've stolen plenty of cars and been in plenty of 3/4 star police chases. Is there official confirmation that NPC's can do that, anywhere? I've never read of it or seen it first-hand.

Yeah. I saw a guy earlier that left the lobby after getting a bounty on his head for killing a group of guys repeatedly. He never seemed to die. Had a $5000 bounty on him and thought he could get out of it by leaving the server and going to another. Funny thing is, you can follow people and bounties carry to others servers, so it wasn't longer before the group of people he was torturing and a few others left after him. A message came up when he left, something like "______ has left the lobby with a bounty on his head. If you want to still try and claim it, try to find them again."

 

Love the fact that people can't just escape by changing servers.

Hi I was looking for the same

Had a bounty put on my head for 5k lol

There was a car parked up so I just jumped init and off I went next thing a text message from unknown came up calling me a motherfuker and I will pay for this and put a 5k bounty on me I'm not even off level 1 yet lol

It was great lol

 

Edit I'm sure it was a npc car as soon as I got the text there was no one even close to where I picked the car up from as I was looking to give it back

This happened to me and my friend, haha. Some guy kept putting a $9,000 bounty on me, so I told my friend to kill me. $4,500 each way. Happened several times, easy money!

The thing I am looking at is when a person puts a bounty on your head do you know who they are? I had a dude gun me down a couple of times, then I gunned up until he ran off. Like it was said it's a dog eat dog world.

And bounties, like RDR, give me a long range rifle and a reason.

Can't wait till they get the bugs out in the meantime. Had a few rock n' roll hours playing today though.

 

Had a group corral me inside the ammunation. Now with that being said and to thwart such a crass ambush, how does this passive thing work?
