I was wondering if there is an option (or method) for establishing a private session on GTA Online. Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

If you go into SP story and head to the online tab on the pause menu, once you click on the option to go to GTAO it'll give you options for a solo session (just you) or sessions with only your friends or players you invite (i.e. crew members). That's after you do the tutorial stuff though, I could only access GTAO via a public session at first.
