Classic 'Free-Mode'?

I'd love to the classic free-mode in Online like IV had. Don't get me wrong the Online seems good from the couple of hours of it I've played, but constantly buying ammo and weapons etc instead of pick-ups can feel like a chore.

 

Would anyone else like this? It worked for IV since its release so you can't say it was sh*t.

I just thought of it because I'm just driving around atm and there's like nothing happening because we amhave to rank up to buy certain weapons. The airport is dead because you can't steal planes or helis from there and everyone's just lonewolves running around wondering what to do. I'd just love to be able to pick up a gun instead of buying everything

It's called advancing the game, let's just create the exact same multiplayer experience as GTA IV that should please the EVER-DEMANDING fans.

Are you on crack? In gta iv youd have to spend minutes loading up on ammo. Then die, then minutes loading up on ammo. Ju are crazy

Well the point is to earn what you have instead of just picking up stuff from the ground. I like this new way alot better as you dont have 15 kids running around with RPG's as soon as you enter.

I like it actually.. I thinks its another way of controlling economy... i mean once you get to the high ranks money will roll in and you will be left just sitting with it doing nothing to be honest. Im making 9k every 3 - 5 mins from one solo mission from a contact so atm im having no trouble with ammo.

This has been all I thought about while I was playing, this whole single player meets multiplayer thing adds something different, but I want to have fun with my friends, steal a plane and shoot each-other down, get rocket launchers and see who can survive the longest etc. but you can't do that because the planes and choppers have vanished off the face of the earth and if you die you have to fork out for a hospital bill, not to mention the only way to acquire weapons seems to be to buy them, but you need to unlock them first by doing a dickload of missions

 

Hardly a 'free' mode.

Don't lose sleep over it, it's not any better than IV.

Then why not just play GTA:IV? I remember when Halo Reach came out, that I thought it was total garbage! So I went straight back to Halo 3, and all was back too good!

 

Devs makes money off of new ideas, and games that appeal to the masses. Keep that in mind!

I thought I read that they were going to be adding things in over time. I believe since they are trying to first stabilize the game so people can actually play, all that other stuff will come later.

I thought the same thing. I really like the direction R* took with combining elements from SP into online but sometimes my mates and I want to get baked and just run amok carefree rampaging and doings dumb sh*t. This is just not possible with the level up restrictions in place. I hope eventually R* does include a "classic free mode" for those that want a quick run around.

Probably as a $10 DLC. I love Cops & Crooks but if I had to purchase CnC for GTAO, well I'd just load up GTA IV.

True. I hope they add it too, free mode was one of my favorites in GTA IV.
