PS3: How to get past 1st race loading screen?

So I am now able to "strart" the first race where you walk up to a blue circle but it gets stuck after that. All I hear is music and a view of the city that is blurry with adark spot near the center.

 

Should I keep waiting?

I heard somepeople say to just wait andit works but what if it takes too long, like an hour?

 

Also if I click X it sounds like I am clicking or scrolling. Through some sort of menu I cannot see, please help.

 

This is on solo session ps3, nothig else works. For me, im on Pacific time zone.

Yea keep waiting it takes like 5 minutes or so. Keep waiting and the cutscene will load.

I waited a good 20 minutes and it replayed the cutscene, waited another 20 or so minutes, and gave up

This is the main problem I am having, at least it's better than what was happening yesterday, I couldn't even get into the race start without it saying "Failed to join Job or Event."

I've been waiting for over an hour. I'm still 'waiting for other players'.
