Set Player Vehicle?

I havent bothered with online yet (waiting for bugs to get worked out), but I did have a question.
Does your online character get a default, respawning car (like Franklin's Buffalo, Trevor's Bhodi, etc...)? If so, is there some way to pick out what it is?

So one of the first things you get tasked with is stealing a car (any of your choice). Then you have to take it to Los Santos Customs and fit it with a tracker and insurance - all of which is free the first time. This then becomes your default vehicle, if tyou want to make a new vehicle your default, take into the LSC and fit it with a tracker and it becomes yours. Also a good idea to buy insurance (although insurance is optional)

Okay, does that make it your permanent vehicle throughout the game?
Like whenever you log in, it's always parked by your house? or can it be permanently destroyed?
