My Impressions of GTA Online so Far

Well i thought as a brand new member, since i just joined, i would make an actual decent post, unlike most crap i read on here about whining etc. So i got home and booted the game up at 1:45 EST. Like everyone else i sat at the joining session for the first race forever, and it timed out. I restarted and keep trying every 20 minutes. Finally at 4:45 i got in. I expected issues so i have no problem trying this much to get in. No im not a fan boy or suck rockstar's anything, i just work for a computer company and know the hassle. Just cause you got billion dollars doesn't mean you can judge everything and all the people coming in at once. Just add servers doesn't work completely either, since you need certain servers for different things int he game, and balance it all out. This happens to alot of big time games and MMO's be impatient and it will get better soon.

 

Ok so i got in and created my character, interesting take on character customization, as you dont pick the size of your body, nose ears mouth etc. Instead you choose your grandparents and parents which forms how you should look like. Its interesting take. After that was all done i got in the game. I played from 4:45 till 11 and had no issues at all, got into all sessions, friends sessions, jobs etc. It was smooth all night through. Of course this might vary on everyone else's experience.

 

I played a bunch of jobs and missions. Jobs seem to be competitive events, missions seem to be coop from what i have seen. You can join Jobs either by going around the world to start it up or by selecting start and joining jobs on there. After every job you do online, a new set of 6 shows up and everyone votes to either redo or pick a new one from that list, or refresh it. Missions are mostly given in world by npc's and then you can do them via coop 1-4 players from what i seen so far. The few i did were drug deals and stealing cars etc. The jobs were also alot of fun. I found things like boat races, tdm,dm,bike racing, GTA Racing, last team standing, random events like who get take down a cop first etc. The best part so far is how great and fun the maps are for these modes. The boat races had some great maps to mess with. Best part is before each match you can place a bet with your money to see if you win, or lose lol. Also certain missions/jobs require you to be a certain rank, so new cool ones always seem to appear the higher you rank.

 

The world itself has all you can expect from single player. Tennis, darts, golf, arm wrestling, etc. You unlock this points on the map as you level up. When i get to level 6 or 7 is when i unlocked tennis and golf etc. From what it seems like you unlock more as you level up to do things around the city. Theres alot more places to rob from what i can see so far then in single player. All the things you can do in singleplayer are pretty much here.

 

Some stuff i still have to do that i cant wait to try is buying my first house and checking out tv and the news and see people in the world on tv, that should be fun. Speaking of that, money isnt to bad in singleplayer. Each missions gives around 1000-2000 so far for me. Deathmatch and competitive modes for lst place usually top at around 4800 and decrease the lower place you got, Races are fun and give about the same as well. From what i saw the cheapest house, Not garages, i saw was 130,000.

 

There is so much more to see and do and discover, From what i played so far, i do have a few suggestions for online:

 

1) add inside levels for dm and tdm. RIght now all the levels, are cool, but all outside. No fighting inside. It be great to do this in a mall, the airport etc.

2) add even more competitive modes like capture the flag which is coming, cops vs robbers etc.

 

I cant wait to see online heist in a couple weeks, and the update this game gets in the months to come. Its a great game already with so much to see and do,.Haven't had this much fun with people online in a game in a while. Cant wait to get home and get on and discover and play new things again.

 

Add your comments below on cool things you might have seen or done so far that people might not know. dont add pointless sh*t like i wish i could get in the game,

Those suggestion are definitely good. I am not too concerned with content as of now. I'd like to have all the technical problems sorted out. I notice some things started working while I was playing last night, which is good news.

 

Cheapest house I believe is 80k. Well, it's an apartment, not a house but it has a garage to store your car.

 

I've pretty tried all the different jobs/activities (except arm wrestling).

 

Overall, after finishing SP mode, this is pretty much where players are expected to be.
