thisguy90
I've seen various cases online, but nothing exactly like mine, and with such persistent troubles. Long story short (but still kind of long): Downloaded the title update (TU) earlier and booted up online. I had issues beginning the first mission/race multiple times in different online modes (GTA Online Public, Solo, Invite Only, Friends Only, etc.). After multiple loading screens, I finally was able to control my character and go about the map, but I couldn't START the first race. Frustrated, I went back to single player and gamed for about two hours. Now, here's where it gets stupid and annoying: I decided to restart my Xbox to see if that could make a difference. When Dashboard came back up, I started the game, but came to a screen stating that the game restarted due to trouble with the storage device where the game was installed. What can I say, I deleted basically everything, panicked and even deleted my own Storyline in the process. Actually, let me rephrase, after I panicked and f*cked myself, I researched and then I deleted EVERYTHING on my hard drive. All previous games, ALL of my gamer profiles [moved to MU], Avatars, Pictures, Netflix, IE, Halo Waypoint, Themes. Hell, the only things left are my System Settings. I've deleted and reinstalled GTA 5 about four to five times now and tried to play it offline without the TU, offline with the TU, and online with the TU, all to which result with GTA 5 loading Story Mode or Online in a couple previous attempts either going to black screen and rebooting or displaying the aforementioned message about the storage device. So, I have come to the conclusive ASSUMPTION that my hard drive, which I have had since 2005 mind you, is corrupted, even without anything troubling the defragging process, and that I now have to pay $20 more dollars at an Exchange for a new hard drive all because of this corruption GTA caused that I had nothing to do with! HOWEVER, I needed to spin this by some other people first to get their opinions, just to see how it lines up with mine. If I can avoid spending money and hassle I will, but please, give me some good input and advice if it deviates from my conclusion!!! Thank you for reading and answering [if you do]. Edit: My storyline was at 75% overall completion and main story beat, so please help me try to avenge this stupid loss.
