I could ask my doctor why im getting, for example, headaches, and I could also ask a taxi driver. They would both have an opinion, but one would be more valuable to me. (It would be the doctors btw, hope you picked up on that). But if, for example, I wanted to know the fastest route to the airport, maybe I might value the taxi drivers opinion more. Well I do like to believe myself that consumers' opinions are actually valuable to businesses.

 

As a student of business however, you have given me the knowledge that if I ever start my own business I should not value customer/consumer opinions, rather, I should hire those with the relevant experience to tell me how good my product/service is.

Captain Revenge

Make 1st DLC packed with military and civilian aircraft and vehicles, make it less difficult to attack ft zancudo even in free roam the fort should be guarded by bots. Then for F'ing up the past 2 days make that DLC a free download to retail copies of the game on PS3 and XBOX. That would b a start to the road of fan forgiveness.

After wasting minutes of my life looking through those arguments, it wasn't to my expectations.

 

OT: Yes, they are responsible for their online services. They had 2 weeks to prepare for the masses trying to connect and they didn't prepare at all. Rockstar said that they had no idea that many people would be trying to connect, which is total bullsh*t - how can a company make $1 billion in 3 days of launch and expect to have small amounts of players trying the online? It's stupid and poor business practice.

People need to put down the pitchforks ffs, they're responsible for the online launch date not going as smoothly as we'd like, not the f*cking holocaust. Everyone acting hysterical and swearing off R* forever, who are you kidding? They're gonna release DLC, microtransactions and everything else, and you're all eagerly gonna open your wallets anyway, probably bitching about it at the same time, but still. Have a little patience, within a week it'll all be working fine. R* even said there'd be teething problems, so get a little fresh air, calm down and try it in a day or two.

I, like many other on this forum was giving my opinion about the matter, and how in my eyes Take Two have majorly f*cked up. Anyone can say that. Look, this isn't the 'should Rockstar listen to the opinions of consumers,' thread, it's the 'should Rockstar be held responsible,' thread and the simple fact is that they have no legal obligation to provide you with a working service in regards to GTAO whatsoever.

 

Seen as you all seem to be so interested in credentials, let me tell you that I own and run my own photography and graphic design business and I deal with licensing on a daily basis. A licence of the game is all we own and it states quite clearly:

 

"Licensor may limit, suspend, or terminate the license granted hereunder and access to the Software, including, but not limited to, any related services and products, at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever."

We all agreed to this when we handed over our money, you might not like it but that is tough sh*t. Giving your opinions is one thing, trying to 'hold them responsible,' is quite another and it will get you nowhere.

Of course they are responsible, they are the developers. But with that said, this was all expected.

I'm not specifically defending Rockstar, but all developers who launch multiplayer on any given day. With this much stress on your servers, no matter how much preparation or the amount of servers they have, it will break down.

People are saying they should've been prepared, or should already have it fixed, etc. Well, that is simply not possible. Anyone who honestly expected this to go smoothly, with literally MILLIONS of people logging on their servers at the same time, are naive.

Every large, cloud/server based multiplayer game has issues when it kicks off. CoD, MMO's and so on are no different. Rockstar naturally are to blame, as it's their game. But to be honest, they shouldn't be crucified over it as it's happened to PLENTY of other companies.

Give them a f*cking chance and they'll fix the issues.
