Guys..

 

EVERY ONLINE RELEASE HAS HICCUPS

 

So this is a helpful tip for next time...

 

Dont expect to play on release day and you wont be disappointed when you dont get to play on release day.

(works everytime for me)

 

Really boring to see the exact same response from the gaming community everytime an online release has issues the first day or so. It seems we dont learn anything.

What about FIFA 14? I played that online just fine the day it was released. The same with FIFA 13, FIFA 11, FIFA 10 and FIFA 09, Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and none of those games made me wait 2 weeks to begin with.

 

Get Rockstar's cock out of your mouth, stop trying to be the self appointed voice of reason and realise this is a f*cking shambles.

360 should have priority to be fair, Live users actually pay for the service.

I highly doubt they prioritised Xbox and I have an Xbox..... im yet to be able to finish the 1st race mission.

I've not got to play at all on xbox, both are f*cked don't be butthurt on this issue.

 

As for the general ''releases are always sh*t''. This is honestly one of the worst that I have seen. There are just obvious flaws in design and certain parts aren't really a server issue. They obviously just weren't ready to release the game and shouldn't have bothered, I say this for singleplayer to as there is just so much pushed back for the free DLC patch now.

Don't even wanna hear that from a guy who is already playing it. I have been waiting for it to be fixed, so far it's been 24 hours. There has been no updates on progress what so ever and no change in the current situation. We are completely in the dark aside from rumour and speculation.

I know the whole thing's frustrating... But the OP has got a point. Launching a service of this size does pose problems.

 

For the record - the Xbox has issues too, I've been unable to get to the race on mine. Yes there are different architectures between XBL and PSN - and the XBL lends itself by design to less issues... But it's a costly, infrastructure based solution over a cheaper P2P solution.

 

Comparing to Fifa doesn't hold much water - they're vastly different types of games that require different infrastructure setups and a different number of users playing with different size "worlds" or environments. All of that has a bearing on what's needed and what's used.

 

Rather than repeat myself from earlier today feel free to read these two posts to get an idea of why this is happening... It won't take away the frustration but will hopefully give you an idea of what's going on and why:

Well you are lieing, because the PS3 matchmaking server has been offline since launch, and to be able to get past the first race, you need to connect to the matchmaking server.'

I can "play" gtao too, i can watch the intro and walk to the car, like EVERYONE else on PS3, but noone can get further than that, and noone else has either, the one who says they do have no proof of it, and ive only heard it from 3 trolls so far.

Why is everyone bashing rockstar, they are trying to get it fixed.

 

Look at the release of diablo 3, simcity 2013 and some other big online releases, they all had the same issues.

If a few million people try to connect and load and save stuff from a server at the same time, it will be overloaded no matter what.

 

And please don't compare it to like fifa 14 online or call of duty, fifa is not nearly as big as the GTA V online and call of duty has had big servers for ages because of previous releases, if call of duty would have release issues now it would be a shame for that company.

 

This is the biggest online game rockstar has released and they warned us for this as well.

So just be patient, they will fix it as soon as they can so stop crying.

I'm not crying about it, everything I say is a fact. I can't go outside for various reasons. Even if you do wish for it to work on PS3 like you say, I know for a fact you have already and are probably playing it on Xbox. So I think you, who has already played the online can't really understand people like me who have not played the online and have been waiting 24 hours.
