I guess I got lucky with Online

Well I got home and loaded up the game around 6pm BST, first attempt at Online kind of failed; it froze at the beginning of the race, but after a while it threw me into a world with a lot of other players (so skipped the tutorial pretty much). However, I couldn't join any games or missions due to connection problems.

 

My internet cut out about 20 minutes in, so I got thrown off. When I loaded up the game again my character didn't save so I had to start from scratch, which wasn't too bad I guess, it didn't take long.

 

This time the race worked, and the tutorial went fine: Managed to hold up a store with some other random guy and we got rid of the cops (although he didn't split the cash!). Got up to the point where it takes you to one of the missions (can't remember the name). There, I couldn't connect, but everywhere opened up and 10 minutes afterwards I tried loading a few more missions and it worked perfectly.

 

Must have played 4 or 5 missions/gametypes, such as kill the businessman and last man standing etc. I also managed to play with a friend of mine online to steal a car and return it to the car dealer (whose name escapes me).

 

Afterwards I just went around robbing stores and creating mayhem before coming off for the night. Must've played around 3-4 hours of Online with very little problems luckily.

 

Anyone else get lucky?

Lol I had a good time got high lvl got Lester as a contact did loads of deathmatches and missions and loads of races everybody is gonna give us sh*t now tho

Lol more than likely. How do you get Lester as a contact? I'm only around level 6 I think. Trying to save up for an apartment, although I think I'll wait until the servers are more stable. Also, I hear PS3 are getting most of the problems, I'm on the Xbox 360 though.

Hosted an invite-only free roam with 3 friends, played for 5 and a half hours straight, only one connection hiccup when we had to re-invite eachother, apart from that tiny wee issue it was awesome - robbing stores, drive-bys, rooftop shootouts with the cops, custom races, Im loving the online missions -- was pleased with how populated the city was, how similar to Story mode it is - drove up the the top of Chiliad in a Shaffter and ran over some hikers, then parachuted down in formation, it was awesome. Playing on Xbox in the UK.

 

F*ck the whiners, if I was Rockstar, I wouldnt want fans like that anyway.

Funny how you call out others for whining, while you manage to experience the multiplayer first hand. I'm pretty sure you would be on here bitching and moaning if it didn't work for you. Not that I advocate it..

... They use the server problems as an excuse to whine about everything. The game itself is great. Just be patient and be mature.

To get Lester he just rings you either at level 10 or getting enough jp points I'm not sure which one but it happened when I hit 10 but after I did about 10 missions one After another so I can't confirm which one initiated it

My friend on PSN couldnt get on....is he on here crying? Nope, he went out and watched the football, because he's not a crying forum whiner like 95% of the folk on here.

 

They said pre-release it would be f*cked for the first few days, and guess what? THEY WERE RIGHT.

 

The idea that shedding your tears on here is gonna change anything is laughable.
