GTA Online Tips and Tricks

Recommended Posts

-Hold handbrake in the air to control the yaw of your vehicle. Releasing handbrake in air allows you to control pitch and roll.

-You need 250 cash in pocket to get your vehicle out of impound. But the funds come out of your bank account.

-You can have matte with pearl paint, or even chrome+crew colors.

-the co-pilot of the buzzard can shoot rockets straight down

-going off radar in passive allows you to switch back to armed mode without alerting anyone.

-if you lean properly with skydiving you can "squirrel suit" and go as fast as a high performance car

-if you pay the impound fee then leave or die before retrieving your vehicle you don't have to pay again just walk in and get your car.

-you can pull someone out of a stationary tank by holding Y or triangle (yay passive mode lol)

-The bison can have riders sitting in the box of the truck and the granger can have 4 inside +4 people hanging off the roof rack with heavy mg's

-the cargobob is still for sale if you know how

-high priority vehicle can be armed with an ignition bomb and still shows on the map

-having sex with a hooker boosts your health

-you can highlight multiple players through the quick menu but the blink won't be permanent.

-highlighting a single player in the session through the cell phone makes them blink permanent however the highlight will jump to a random if that player leaves session

-you can ride inside the bay of the cargobob if a friend lands it on top of you.

-always shoot the register next to the clerk while doing a hold up, it makes him go faster and you get and extra 100 bucks.

-best place to lose 5 stars is to land a chopper on the high priority case building then hide on the second level.

-passengers in cars can use auto-lock

-passengers not riding shotgun in choppers can use heavy mg's

-pegasus vehicles will most likely disappear if you go inside an lsc (use this to reclaim a peg vehicle that someone jacked) patched

You now have to go to the games store to clear a peg vehicle (this can cause a session switch though, rejoin through recent players to get back into the same session)

-tanks take more damage to the front than the rear before exploding

you can also double tap down on the d-pad to get a quick view of who's outside the store, essential for not getting raped while shopping.

-you can watch tv in your garage

-you can use nearly every desktop computer in the game for viewing the internet

-you can watch tv shows through the phones internet.

-you can set muggers and mercs and bounties from your apartment and watch the results on tv.

-ignition bombs and remote bombs are removed from your pv if you call your mechanic to bring it.

-cargobobbing your pv out of impound will not release it from being impounded in the mechanics menu, land it somewhere safe get in and back out and lose the 2 stars. then you can have it delivered again.

-BMX bikes have front and rear brakes. L is front brake R is back.

-5 sticky bombs on the front of a car makes a much larger blast radius. For ghost riding jihads.

-if you let a friend pull an npc out of their car and you get in as a passenger, the npc can rip your friend out of the drivers seat, get in and drive you around.

Dont know if this was mentioned already but I make 90% of my money in JOBS out that 90% almost all of it is Races then Missions reason why is:

1. Races especially Custom Races can earn $18,000+/RP2000+ not including betting and unlocked awards during the race. Simply put you can earn some major quick cash for a 7-15 minute race

2. Missions can be tricky to find the right ones but once you find them like Titan on the Job you can make $16,000/RP1000 for a 10 minute mission the other trick is having a good team. If you have a good team it will be less then 10 minutes if not your looking more at 30+ minutes cause you keep failing

3. LTS, Capture, Multi Team(VS) Missions are the biggest time wasters

4. Make sure you take in the fact that you have a lobby wait time for the start and end of a Job eg: you and 15 players finish a long 14 Minute Race...so in truth that job took 2+Minutes for starting up the Job 4+Minutes after the Job accomplished, and Multiple Vote Screens so in reality you spent about 20+Minutes so its best to find good fast voters that ACTUALLY try to play the job CORRECTLY

5. During Missions, LTS, Capture, DM, etc make sure to pick up the dropped cash/ammo. $20 bucks/20 ammo for a certain weaponx10= $200/200 ammox5 jobs=$1,000/1000 ammo can add up real quick

6. Expenses VS Profit- Theres no P/E caculator yet so you have to do your own math ex: every clip of pistol bullets cost $50, 10 clips= $500 so if i fail the Job im $300 in the whole(you recive $200 for failing) I go by the golden rule of every bullet shot is a bullet(dollar spent) 5x$400 sticky bomb you just wasted at least a 1/5 of your profit on Titan on the Job

7. Play Job 1st time you earn max $/RP 2nd time almost half that 3rd time...no point to tell the truth. Now if you have played Titan on the Job for the VERY FIRST youll earn max $/RP, the next time lets say the next day(24 hours) youll earn ALMOST mas $/RP. If you play the jobs right you can earrl max $/RP aka dont spam a Job

8. CUSTOM CREATED CONTENT ALWAYS AND I MEAN ALWAYS EARN YOU MORE $/RP!!!!!!!

Hope these Tips help

GTA 5 Easter Egg: Star Trek Gesture!. This tutorial shows you a cool GTA V Easter Egg!. This is very simple to do,hope you enjoy this video!

1.) Go to Lester's House

2.) Climb onto his House

3.) Walk to the middle of the Roof

and stand on the area that looks like a crack.

4.) Pull up your phone and load a mission.

5.) Once the Mission is Loaded Back OUT.

If you did it right you should be inside lester's house, you can look at all of the stuff he has. You can also go on his laptop and of course see the easter eggs that are in his house.

How not to get bounties from NPC car jacking: Shoot the driver, wait a few seconds and then get into the vehicle. This is useful for when you are going to sell a vehicle and don't want a bounty. I'd say it works 90% of the time.

You're now able to consume eCola while in cover.

If you know you're about to die, switch to melee to prevent the lost of ammo for the weapon you are holding.

Hide on the roof of your apartment when you have a bounty. Most players will think you're inside lol.

Couple minor tips that may be listed elsewhere but i didnt have time to read 6 pages yet lol...

1. For fast travel just accept a fairly short mission (1 lap race, parachute jump) reasonably close to your destination. Once the mission is done, you'll spawn in where the mission ends.

2. For free armor, do a short race/parachute jump... You'll spawn back into ur session with full health and armor.

Soran Is On

-you can eat and drink in cars with the inventory quick menu

-place a stickybomb on a car and carry it with a cargobob for a 1 ton bomb

-cargobob's cockpit is bulletproof

Post 1.12:

Backing out of a quick job through the phone will teleport you. (backing out of a job accessed through the pause menu will NOT teleport you)

You will not be charged for another players car if you destroy it by:

1.Dropping it in water from a cargobob

2.Dropping it on a propane tank or gas pump from a cargobob (the propane tank beside the helipads at extreme sightseeing is perfect)

3.Driving to a gas station and shooting the gas pump

I knew about this little trick, and I'm not sure many people know about it. Basically, all you have to do is when you get in your car, go in the pause menu, and your character wont turn it on until you leave the pause menu. It's a good trick for making movies or roleplaying.

Never put upgraded headlights on your vehicles, they can been seen and tracked from the air by buzzard and lazer pilots VERY easily.

If youre running from a buzzard or a lazer you are far more likely to disappear into traffic when your headlights match the rest of the traffic. (for those that say 'just turn the headlights off', a car without headlights also stands out from traffic just not as much, and if the pilot tracking you is off radar you wouldn't even know to turn them off.)

High dives can also be done off the fuel tanks of cargobobs. Climb up there and let the pilot take you to the sky box.

passive mode overview:

From what I have seen, a number of people have different issues about a single aspect or another about passive mode, but ultimately do not like or understand its main purpose. Hopefully this can be of some help.

To be clear, the purpose of passive mode is to offer the player SOME protection while they maneuver about, either towards or away from other players, or to be able to stand about, without being spawn killed constantly. It is NOT intended to give you god-mode-like protection from any and every possible threat around you. In that sense, it works just as it was intended. Once you understand this, using it becomes easier.

It is not GOD mode, neither is it GHOST mode (as is in no-contact racing.) The point is, it's PASSIVE mode, So it's not broken. R* is not going to add a god or ghost mode for free roam open sessions cause that defeats the point of an open session: player interaction. It is GTAO after all. Not to mention modes like that would only lead to different forms of trolling and exploitation.

In order to use passive mode, you open the quick menu, and scroll down to passive mode, and select it once. At that point, it is activated. Selecting it again will take you out of passive mode, and you will have a 10 second timer before it is removed.

In passive mode, you ARE protected against:

-gun fire and explosions from other players

-melee attacks

-tank, jet and helicopter weapons

-merryweather mercenary calls

-being targeted with another player's auto aim

-mugger calls

-merryweather airstrikes

In passive mode, you are NOT protected from:

-NPC attacks

-police attacks

-being hit, landed on or run over by a vehicle of any sort

-being shot at or blown up while in any vehicle

-a bounty being set on you (the bounty does not cancel passive mode)

-the water cannon on a fire truck

-other players "trolling" waiting for the opportunity to attack

-other players "air thrusting" or "jazz handing" you

-the 12 year old insulting your over the mic

Note: while in a car, you become vulnerable to being targeted by muggers and mercenaries even with passive mode on.

Most of the time, a player in passive mode will show up on the gps as a circle with a line through it, indicating that they cannot be attacked.

When exiting passive mode, you must take head, as you have a 10 second timer before you are exit it and are able to use weapons again. During this time, you ARE vulnerable to everything again, and will show up on other players radars as having exited passive mode. YOU CAN BE TARGETED AND KILLED DURING THIS TIME.

All in all, If your REALLY trying to accomplish somethin hassle free without being harassed or trolled, either enter a SOLO SESSION or CLOSED CREW/FRIEND SESSION. Other than that, it would be in your best interest to learn both tactics for effectively using passive mode, and consciously playing in a manner where you avoid being put in a situation where you need to use it in the first place.

If anyone needs advice or tips for particular situations that they consistently struggle with, I'm more than happy to help.

You can hide from the cops by buzzing an apartment and just waiting. You don't need to be buzzed in and cops wont kill you or spot you while the youre in the que to be buzzed in.

Try it yourself. This has been tested. Unless this was patched after 1.14, yes, yes you can.

I might have been getting mixed up with the mugger, I was having a battle with someone and they were too far away to even snipe.

They sent mercs on me, so I sent them on them afterwards and went down there and killed them (then got the call from M/W saying the person had been dealt with)!

After that I tried to send a mugger or set a bounty, but they had gone into p/m so I got the message 'you cannot send a mugger/set a bounty to/on someone in passive mode' or whatever!

They then left...

I've been trying to get the 5 star evasion award and came up with some strategies, thought I'd post 'em.

1) The Tank Method - Get on to the train tracks across from the marina/helipad and drive to the tunnel entrance. It's easiest if you go under the highway to the south and drive up from the southeast. Just before the entrance to the tunnel on the right side is a break in the fence. Park your tank along here just above the close side of the drain and call emergency services for a police car. It will come from down the drain and you should see if from pretty far off. Blow it up when it arrives and blow up any more that arrive, they'll all come from that same spot. When you hit 5 stars drive into the tunnel.

2) The Bulletproof Car Method - Take a car with a bulletproof rear end (Entity/Infernus/some others) and go to the impound lot. Waste a cop to get 3 stars. Enter the train tunnel adjacent to the car impound but not too far. The police will charge down the tunnel where you can easily drop them from inside your car. Acquire 5 stars then race down the tracks to the tunnel past the underpass pay n spray. You can lose them inside. It probably takes the longest to achieve 5 stars with this method.

3) The Poor Man's Method - Take your PV and drive out to the industrial area (Palmer-Taylor Power Station) just to the right at the lower right of the wind farm. Park it on the second track just off the main track right where it branches off. Follow the tracks south until you are well past the power station and hop onto the train. Acquire 5 stars, it helps to get 3 before you jump the train. You can call Emergency Services or shoot a security guard for a quick 2. If you have 5 stars and find a secluded tunnel you can jump out and lose them right then but if you go all the way around back to the power station the train may stop. If this happens, you have your PV to jump into. Get in it and drive down the tracks to the nearest tunnel for safety. This is the most dangerous and least cost effective way to do it, despite its name.

If you end up in a lobby where the Armored Trucks keep re-spawning constantly, don't use 'cops turn blind eye'.

Just made 275,000$ cuz it was just me and one other person in the lobby.

4) get a Buzzard Attack Chopper, kill cops, fly over prison/fort zancudo if needed, get a 5 star wanted level, fly over ocean parallel to coast, lose wanted level. Even easier with a Lazer.

Sidenote: you can get two awards in one if you try to keep your 5 stars for a bit.

Maybe a guide on the best guns and how to use them most effectively for example SMG's are good for free roam against NPC's because of higher fire rate and cheap ammo, while the carbine rifles better accuracy makes it better against players for PVP ( aim for headshots!!) . also I seem to be finding the regular mg better than the combat mg for killing NPC's.
