Ninjambie
Bounties. If you're playing with friends or crew members and you some how get a bounty, have them kill you for the bounty and give you half. Not only does this remove the bounty, but it also gives you and your friend or crew member easy money. This is best done when you have a 5k bounty or higher. This way the player with the bounty makes at least 500$. Bounties that are less than 5k are not with it unless the bounty hunter is going to give the other player the 2k to break even for his death fee. Other wise just stay alive for 24 in-game hours and you will collect the bounty that was placed on you. Kill NPC's after stealing their vehicle and you won't get a bounty. It's best to just beat them down. Shooting will sometimes get you a star. I play with only friends and I get a bounty sometimes, play like normal and after a day I get the cash. No threat involved. Just waiting the 24 hours is better no matter how you look at it. umbaru
Added a TON of Miscellaneous tips! Miscellaneous Tips: -The last two stores you rob won't be available for a short period of time -Shooting registers in clothing stores may not give you a wanted level at all -You can call people who have given you jobs to request a new one, or redo one -Climbing walls, ladders, etc is sped up for GTA: Online-Using the tunnels are very effective for losing cops-Gaining XP for driving, flying etc is much slower than single player-Every clothing shop sells the same items regardless which store -The prison is now on the map with a good amount of detail. Possibly hinting at there will be missions involved with it or heists when they're released. Looking forward to finding out! -The websites that sell vehicles have a vastly improved inventory! Go check it out. -As of patch 1.02, this no longer affects Deathmatch. -Passive mode is not invincibility. You're still vulnerable to being shot from a car and being run over. -When robbing a store, you can kill the store keeper and take the money out of the register but you will make less. -Typically the farther the store from Los Santos, the more it pays out. That's where most of the bigger stores are. -You can sell cars to any auto-shop once every in-game day (around 48 minutes) which usually goes for 4-9k. -Luxery Sedans and high end SUVs are the highest paying car when selling cars to the auto-shop. -You can withdraw/deposit cash safely from your phone. -All your progress online before the brown sync icon appears will be lost on turning off your console, selecting Leave GTA Online will save your progress. -You can also shut down your console if you lost a great sum of money and haven't synced yet to restore your previous save. -When you find a good farming mission, repeat as much as possible. Most good farming missions you cannot choose to join and usually end up joining by random. -Gerald's missions seem to pay the highest. Would like to know if anyone has found any higher paying missions. -If you're not finding good matches on Quick Job try swapping sessions by pressing Find New Session. -Buying Armor before a session is usually worth it. It's cheaper then the expensive death penalty. -Blue moving objective points that aren't auto GPS tracked will appear under Quick GPS. -If a player in your passenger sets a GPS route on the map, it will also appear on your map. -Simeon's missions are time consuming and not worth the payout compared to Gerald's missions. -Use Find New Session to quickly warp back to your garage/apartment. -If you get a phone call from an AI, your characters lips will move. Your characters mouth also move whenever you talk into the mic. -When buying an apartment/garage, you will sell your already owned property and get about half the value back to contribute to the purchase. -Only the host needs to be the required level to start a mission. Anyone can play with anyone regardless of level requirements. -Press RT to vote for replay mission after everyone has liked even if the option is not shown. -Mashing jump up hills is faster then running. -Sports/Super cars must be bought through the ultimate motors website to keep in your garage, sell or modify. -Don't quit golf/tennis/shooting range etc. because you are losing. You still get rp (experience) for losing and for being a good sport you will get monetary rewards. Plus you still get points towards your skills. Races can be done solo. They can give 500-1000 rp each time alone which can be a great experience booster. Keep in mind though that it costs 100 each time. -Players drop 100 every time they die, in addition to any funds they are carrying. -You have to start a solo/private game from the pause menu. -Blowing up other players owned vehicles deems you a bad sport, so be careful on your drive-by stick-bomb sprees. -On the other hand, shooting the all the tires out of a players personal vehicle is totally okay. -Heritage can influence character height in Character Creation. -How you set your time spent in character creation can affect how you look, though apparently some of these can be removed when you get an apartment. -Stores can be re-robbed immediately if you swap sessions. -Driving a car into an auto-shop gets rid of your wanted level, if you're not currently spotted by the police. -Your garage/apartment is also a easy way to hide from police if you enter when you're not spotted. -Cops will sometimes chase you if the car you are driving is stolen. -All clothing stores have the same options for different items. -To unlock car upgrades you need to run races with that class of car and level up. -Holding back allows you to split up money that you get from robberies. -Wearing a mask while wanted and then removing it drops your wanted level by 1 star, more depending on the mask. -In races, holding Y/Triangle to spawn back to the last checkpoint also repairs your car. -Pressing down the the d-pad enlarges the mini-map to give a good view of nearby players. -Putting a car in your garage makes it your personal vehicle, repairs it, and gives it a free tracker. -Singing while in the shower in your apartment gives you RP. Leave music playing into your mic overnight to exploit this. -Rolling (X while zooming-in) will dodge most bullets from AI and players. -Food bought from stores can be used as portable med-kits. -You can kill players in stores when you kill the attendant. I promise it's worth the read lol. raspykestrel1
In point 5: earning RP solo, i'm surprised no-one has mentioned golf. at between 1800-2500 RP for 9 holes, (even if you finish way over par) it's by far the easiest way of earning a lot of RP. Only play solo tho - having an extra player just slows it down too much, especially if they're not very good, and you don't gain anything extra by playing with others took me 10 minutes for 9 holes, and 2380RP edit: had a bad round, finished 4 over, only got 1700 Edited October 10, 2013 by raspykestrel1 MysterBeefy 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/609823-gta-online-tips-and-tricks/page/3/#findComment-1063686502 Share on other sites

dream3r
I posted a tips and tricks page and then someone showed me one already existed, so here's my list if it repeats anything already stated on here my apologies just pick away at it for what's useful Just thought I'd come up with a tips and tricks guide for those that are new to online or maybe not so new. If you guys have any ideas feel free to let me know and I'll put them up here if they're confirmed/helpful. Robberies: Best way to rob a store is to punch the clerk and take the money yourself. Clerks tend to take their time when bagging money so the police have time to catch up and if you pull out a gun they may pull out one of their own. Punching results in quicker and safer money. Selling Cars: LS Customs and Simeon will each pay you for cars daily. (LS Customs takes cars every in game day and Simeon will send you a list every real time day) When selling to LS Customs I recommend you visit one in Los Santos and not Blaine County because the cars tend to be worth more money. SUV's tend to be worth the most. For a full list check out the pinned thread listing the prices. Be sure to only sell if the car is worth 6k or more because you're going to have to wait another in game day before you can sell another. Simeon on the other hand will only take specific cars but he tend to pay more for them. Every day (in RL) he will send you a text with a list of cars he wants. There are no pictures so you need to know what those cars look like. If you get in one you will be alerted that Simeon wants this vehicle and an S will be placed on the map to show you where to deliver it. (Which for me has always been the docks but perhaps it may show his store sometime) Before you can take it to him though you need to respray the car and you can not have a wanted level. Difference between Simeon and LS: Simeon pays more but is more picky. Where LS customs might pay 9k for a car Simeon will pay 12k. Be warned though, if you damage the car LS will buy for less but not much less, Simeon on the other hand drastically reduces pay if damaged. A torn bumper might make a 9k car worth 8.5 at LS but only 6k for Simeon. JOBS: Missions: are a good break from free roam and provide decent amounts of money and RP. Picking the right missions will make the most out of your time. Lester and Martin have the best paying jobs with Gerald being okay for starters. (now his best paying jobs have been toned down a bit) To make the most money and the quickest keep these in mind... -Before starting a mission it will show you the distance in meters to the starting point of the mission. Try to pay attention to this because a well paying job might not be worth as much if you drive from Blaine County to the Lost Santos Airport and then back again. Within that time you could have done other jobs. Try to start close to the job, for example A Titan of a Job by Lester takes place at the airport so be there when the mission starts, no driving needed. -Learn the job, if you play a job pay attention to what you have to do in order to complete the job. If you find there's a lot of offroad riding needed it might speed things up if the next time you have a dirt bike before the mission starts. -Play with a team. Having the right team is essential to making the most of your time. People that play well together profit. Not only do you get extra RP for playing with other players but this means you have to spend less on bullets and less time fighting if you have others helping you. Besides when you go back to free roam you spawn next to the people you did the mission with so it's nice to know they wont shoot you right after (it's happened to me) Races: fun and tend to pay well for the short amount of time you spend doing them. Know what you're heading into before hand, having a custom vehicle is helpful and knowing what the route is going to be like is also nice. Check the map and settings before a race. If it switches between on road and offroad you need to decide which terrain you want to focus on and pick a vehicle accordingly. Know if it's going to rain. A car that drives smoothly on dry land may spin out easily in the rain. (If you need to get parts for your car try hosting a race at the prison with a friend and set it to 1 lap. The race take about 30 second and can really rack up the wins. Plus you earn about 2.5k for winning and then you and a friend could also make 2.5k bets to earn even more) Deathmatches: Like to kill people and don't want to be punished for it? Death matches are for you. -Learn the maps, sometimes just knowing where the ladders are can make a big difference in winning or losing. -Use the right gun, sometimes an assault rifle is great but if you cutting around corners you might want to have a shotgun so when you come face to face with an enemy a simple click will do the job. Be sure to switch back when you go in the open because a shotgun might not do so well at a distance. -Learn the team, both yours and the enemies. If you notice the enemy team keeps getting the high ground and raining down hell on your allies you may want to find a way to send it back to them instead of repeatedly running straight at them. They may gain the lead for the few seconds you spend looking for a way to get them but once you're in a good spot you could turn the tables. -Cars, just because you start on your feet doesn't mean you have to stick with them. In many games cars can be stolen and this could give you the edge if you use them correctly. Best thing to do is get behind the enemy so that they are being attacked on both sides instead of just driving the car straight at them where they will likely shoot you before you hit them. Survival: It's not just about killing it's about surviving, hence the name. -find a good spot to take cover. If possible make sure enemies won't spawn behind you because even if you tear up anyone heading towards you a single man with a shotgun at your back could be the end of you. -work as a team, it is unlikely that you will be able to solo the entire 10 waves that there are. Work with a buddy or two and things will be easier, the pay is NOT split so no harm in inviting a few friends. -Keep the money in mind, completing all ten waves results in each player receiving 20k so don't worry if your friend is hogging all the kills, you'll get paid just as much but spend less on ammo. -Make use of Merryweather, if the helicopter rounds are giving you trouble take cover and call for back up, I've had Merryweather save my life with a heli more than once, but keep in mind it cost money for their services so you need to ave it for the later rounds to be worth it. (One thing you can do is have each team mate call in support on different rounds and spread the cost, you each receive the same amount of money so it's best to spread the cost) That's it for now, if you have your own tips and tricks post them below, if you liked this thread say so. It would benefit everyone if this eventually gets pinned. Thank you and I hope this was helpful.
