Goddammit, I guess my character got a tan during Fueling the Flames, thanks R* -___-

 

 

 

 

 

...looks like another case of swapped parent options (father this time? Or even both?) - and irony of ironies, I reckon it's cause by whatever R* thought would fix the mask-related issue.

 

Either of you have any luck going back to the character selection screen/going back to single-player, and then back in? Lot of people say it works - although doing missions/heists/whatever will often scramble things again, so you'll need to constantly log out and in again every time it happens.

 

On the up side (of sorts...), at least it undoes the mask bug in the process - but that makes it either a fix that went too far. In other words, to prevent things like the mask bug swapping heritage settings without an easy fix, R* made it so heritage now reverts back easily, but is so fluid that any old darn thing will cause it to swap out.

If I go to the character selection her skin goes back to normal but that's a pain. When I wore a mask her face changed completely under the mask, but when I removed it her face went back to normal, it was pretty friggin silly.

Watched John Wick last night (awesome movie btw) so I dressed up as him for today. The heist suit jackets really made my character look a little bulker which sort of matched the physique of Keanu Reeves. I also bought a Buffalo S since its real life counterpart was in the movie as well (especially the scenes where he killed everyone while driving the car).

(speaking of which, anyone seen Miss Los Santos lately? Indeed, there's a whole bunch of regular posters who've seemingly gone quiet around the time Heists dropped. Here's hoping they're just busy playing, or just busy with stuff in general, and didn't have some horrible game-breaking bug wipe their accounts, mangle their characters or something else like that, because that sort of thing SUCKS...)

BTW, on a totally unrelated note, I've been tinkering with something, designed for people who like posting their characters' exploits, and want to organise/take part in photo ops, car meets, heist runs, etc. with other, like-minded folk:http://gtaforums.com/topic/779803-the-usual-suspects/

It's all a bit 'work in progress' at the moment, so excuse the mess (!), but if you ever wanted to organise a session with other folk here, or find players to play and take game pics with (but didn't want to de-rail this thread), there's now a dedicated place for that sort of thing.

 

Might even upgrade it to a full in-game crew, if there's demand for it...

I'm still alive! Just busy with things outside of Los Santos. Ugh, the real world is awful.

 

Anyways, hope to get back to posting here soon. I see that Mayor of Los Santos is materializing, which makes me SUPER excited. Sad that the selfie camera controls in GTA seem to be broken. R* will probably fix that soon. Love the heist pictures I'm seeing and love you guys! <3

Going to be writing up the thread for Mayor of Los Santos in the next few days. This will be a contest dedicated to male avatars. Since a major aspect of the Miss Los Santos contest mainly focused upon beauty and charm, the Mayor of Los Santos contest will focus upon campaigning and winning the support of thier fellow forum members. Everything from image, to campaign messages, stories and their extravagent lifestyles will be a part of the voting process.

I dunno tho, I feel like a Mr. LS would appeal to more users on the forums and everyone is not as creative or bothered to make a worth while campaign, there are lots of creative users on this thread..but not as much in the online section

 

plus how would the judge and voting system work? maybe you have that figured already....

 

I just see mayor comp being every1 in suits...promising to open up the casino lol

 

but a Mr. LS would appeal to even casual posters and all different looking / differently dressed players....just my opinion anyway, its your decision in the end....ill be all up in the thread anyway

I want there to always be something to do (ill have a crack at mastermind challenge eventually)

 

I was enjoying the game without heists unlike loads of people on the forums apparently lol

Heh - see, I'm itching to do something besides the bloody Fleeca Job at some point. Heists out for nearly 3 weeks, and I've just done the tutorial a couple of times - I'm slackin', clearly...

Doesn't help that I've been holding fire because of all the gorram appearance-related bugs - right now, I'm debating whether to:

1. Hold of GTAO completely until whatever patch/hotfix comes along and solves things 'definitively' (emphasis on the ' '...)

 

2. Go on later, download the update, and make sure both characters are in their correct state, then take a break from GTAO. That way, if patch 1.24 does f*ck things up, at least I've had the chance to go un-f*ck them before patch 1.25 or whatever can lock the changes...

3. Play, but play cautious - invite-only, Freemode-only (apparently the latest bug happens when swapping between jobs/sessions). Focus on photos and screencaps (hey, no bad - more material for this thread! )

 

4. Throw caution to the winds, and keep doing the 'character select screen' fix as much as possible - and if things go COMPLETELY belly-up, file a support ticket for BOTH characters (even if one's unaffected), and screencap every blasted customisation setting for future reference*.

 

Thinking a mix of 3 and 2 - i.e., 3, until something happens, in which case 2...

 

*I don't know how things work on PS4/PS3, and it's a shame there's nothing comparable on Xbox 360, but I do like how the Xbone's screenshots are literally exact screen captures - thus, if I took one of the customisation screen and settings, all I'd need to do if I needed to recreate my characters from scratch would be to bring up the screenshots, and swap back and forth between that and the game until the game settings matched my saved pics, because they'd line up exactly (like a PC 'print screen' capture).

Hmm - tempted to recommend that to anyone who has to get an appearance reset, and maybe ask for one anyway, just to do that... But it'd be a LOT better if R* just added some visible NUMBERS to the customisation menu sliders/grid, so it'd just be a case of re-entering concrete values, instead of approximate incremental positions.

I wouldnt fuss, none of it is permanent, my guys face changes when I put on a mask and goes bk when I take it off....

 

it'll be patched at some point
