See, back on 360, I'd just take photos, delete any that were forgettable/rubbish, and save the rest for posterity - filled up all 96 slots, and that was that (fortunately, that wasn't long before transferring to Xbone, so...).

 

Now, because I've been trying so many different things out - and because I like having relevant stuff for forum photo threads! - I'll take a load, see which ones I want to upload to R*SC, delete the outtakes, then save the pictures as files on my PC, with the url as the filename. For example, this:

 

 

 

...is saved as 'ixRsANFEFEahfLuxNGuUTw_0_0.jpg' (case-sensitive) - all I need to do is shove that in after 'prod.hosted.cloud.rockstargames.com/ugc/gta5photo/', and that'll bring up the version from R*SC. Even works with ones I've deleted from Social Club, because each Snapmatic pic has a unique code (IIRC, R* do wipe them periodically - hence why I've got saved copies on my hard drive).

 

But yeah - if you've got a saved file, then it's simply a case of uploading them to Imgur or wherever when you want to share them on the forums. Ever since I started doing that, I'm much happier to take as many photos as I want (currently sitting on an album of 250 Snapmatic pics! I think I maaaay have a problem...), and I now view the 96 slots as 'temporary storage', rather than 'the only 96 pics I'll ever be able to take'. It's liberating, I tell ya!

Actually R* did some sort of maintenance a long time ago and removed all the deleted pictures permanently.

Actually R* did some sort of maintenance a long time ago and removed all the deleted pictures permanently.

 

I think they do it with every title update/patch - i.e., the last wipe came with the Festive Surprise. For example I deleted this one:

 

 

 

...well over a month ago (specifically, Jan 6th, judging by this forum post: http://gtaforums.com/topic/711700-things-you-didnt-know-about-gtao-until-now/page-89?do=findComment&comment=1066774536), and it's still working (obviously!).

 

Indeed, I'm going to use that post as test-bed for how R* handles deleted pics - next update, I'll check to see if the url's a goner. If it is, then yep - the wipe happens as part of the patch.

I thought they cleared after about 3 months, not tried in a while though as I'm in the habit of saving to PC when I can, uploading any I want to use to photobucket then clear the Social Club to keep it clean

^ Like I say, it's probably done as part of each patch/title update - we'll know for sure when Update 1.23NG/1.21LG arrives, in 2027...

Hey guys, just dropping in. Things have gotten a little busier in my life, and I've been a bit overwhelmed with all the picture sharing that I've just been thumbing up pictures from the Social Club only. Also, I'd like to put together a Mr. Los Santos contest, but I'm not even sure I can dedicate the same amount of time as I did last time. I'd hate to do anything half-assed. So it's TBA at this point for right now.

 

And pick of me dressed up as Leeloo Dallas to stay on topic.
