GTA Online Screenshots: Show Your Character (Part 1)

^ That's just the light from the phone screen, AFAIK - it's particularly noticeable in single-player, where you can also see the phone in the characters' hands, with the display illuminated.

 

To get the black-&-white filter, press Down on the d-pad about 3 times (keep pressing it to go through all of 'em, though b&w works best) - then it's just a case of getting the angle/lighting you want.

i've always wondered how you guys manage to get those black background pics, do you edit the picture or what?

Simple - go to the secret mining tunnels (PS4/Xbone only), blow the entrance open, and head on in (I recommend using a bike, as it makes things a lot quicker than going on foot).

Once you're in, take a selfie, with the black/white filter selected (press down on the d-pad a few times until you get it) - use the light from the phone to get the desired effect (you'll need to play around with the camera angle to do so).

I did it in a low lighted garage. Should work in any dark place with low light.

After a dramatic deletion of my previous character due to experimenting with the character transfer feature, I had to remake my Online character.

 

The bad: I lost my caracter and progress

The good: Due to the data transfer from the PS3 I was awarded a 500k loyalty incentive for my new character. Thanks Rockstar!
