Also, particularly worth noting if you used any of the preset make-up options on old-gen - this time, just using one of the eyeliner options like 'smoky black' won't produced the same result, unless you also pair it with a matching blusher/lipstick combo. Also, if you want to mitigate the 'pores' appearance of the basic 'clean skin' texture, shove on a blusher set to the same rough colour as your character's skin tone, and then set it to 50% opacity - hey, presto, DIY concealer!

 

After reading this, I am still very hesitant on transferring this one over. I shutter to think what she may end up looking like.

 

 

What all did you end up doing to get your female looking as it did on last gen?

Honestly, it's pretty good on next gen. Its kinda like last gen in terms of what makeup you use has a pretty big effect on appearance. I think the skin is more realistic looking and has far more detail now. But basically, just pick a good foundation/blusher that matches your skin tone well. I added a tiny bit (like 10%) of rosy cheeks to my character to give her a slight little more character in her face. But basically, anything you do on the next gen creator should be minor tweaks and subtle little changes to your character if you want them looking similar to last gen.

 

Advice for anyone who's happy with their old-gen character as they are:

 

AVOID altering their appearance/features in the character editor (even hair/eyes/etc.) - if you want to be on the safe side, go into those settings, and check that they're all set to either 'Standard' or 'None', so you don't have any of the new-style facial details or altered geometry applied.

 

Odds are you'll wind up with a near-duplicate of the PS4/360 version, just with a few minor differences - main being that you'll want to swap for the newer-modelled, fine-detailed version of their current hairdo at the barber's, and fix their makeup:

 

For makeup, remember that in the old days, a set like 'smoky black' or 'Vinewood glamour' would automatically apply eyeliner, blusher, lipstick and the like - now you've got to do it manually, with a greater range of colours and opacity options. Best thing to do is look at some old SnapMatics (or even better, load up your old game and give your character a thorough inspection!), so you know what you're aiming for.

 

Indeed, this actually works out for the best, since you can tweak make-up any time you want for a small charge (and without altering your character's physical features) - and you can now play around with the fine details a lot more. So, if you liked the 'smoky black' makeup, but wanted a more vibrant red lipstick (or conversely, none at all), you can mix and match to suit your tastes, much more so than on the old version.

What's with the police Granger in the background? It's brown now?

That isn't a Police Granger. It's a stock. The occupants are a dead giveaway. LolLol, but the SUV has lights from a police Granger. Is it a double agent?Sadly, Miami Vice people don't give chase. It's a glitch, the regular Granger has po po lights.
