Rockstar Please change the character creation.

The character creation is FINE. Yes it's a bit strange but still lots of choice I guess.

 

The real problem is the game not f*cking working once you create your guy. Then you have to go back and customize him again, and then it still doesn't work lol.

I personally think they could have kept this system in, yet also at least let us customise the facial features like the nose, mouth and whatnot. This "choose parents" system on it's own just feels so restricting.

To be honest, I think this is the only thing I can justify in bitching about. I figured with such a hyped up addition, It'd be something great. I was hoping to spend hours creating a character, not seconds. It's a pretty big letdown, won't stop me from playing but Jesus, IT. IS. BAD.

 

And didn't they say we could choose a background story for our character? :\

They probably won't. As limited as it is to other players, they're probably convinced it's an innovate and unique way of creating characters. Doesn't change that it gives you absolutely no control, it's just a joke compared to other recent character creators in games. I can't believe Rockstar thought this was a good idea.

I also have to agree with everyone on this one. Not much for complaining myself, but this is really bad. The random faces don't look too bad, but once I find a decent random and then go and slightly customize it, it doesn't seem to do anything. Then once you start adding in the lifestyle choices, it just makes it look even worse!

 

I'm also extremely disappointed that we can't pick height, weight, and physique types. They could certainly have put on restrictions to keep people's characters reasonable. But with the current process, we have very little control.

The character customization is a f*cking joke lol.. I've seen better in WWE games, hell every Saints Row game has better customization. R* can't get nothing right these days.. I expected GTA to be life like 9 years later after playing San Andreas.

I must say I remember the WWE games actually had the best customization of any video game EVER.. IDK about the new ones but I remember on smackdown games for ps2 you could literally make anyone and make it look like them.

 

 

 

If there's one thing WWE games get right, it's that and they are the best at it imo. I don't expect too many games to be as good as WWE, hell, for a while it would be the only reason to buy it..at least until the game-play just got so stale I couldn't even enjoy that.

 

Maybe you are getting carried away. Many times people can't get many wrestlers right on Community Creations.

Yeah i've already suggested it via twitter...just feel the more mediums there are in changing this character creation system...the more likely they are to consider doing so...anyone and everyone whos opposed to the current character creation tools should definitly either sign the petition or messege them via twitter, facebook, anything really in order for them to recognize that gamers are unpleased with the current system.

That's a problem with the creator making the wrestler than. The actual creation system has more depth than most games and I've seen plenty of good & diverse models online from people. You basically can change any feature you want. THQ in general usually does a great job with creation, their last UFC was pretty good with that as well.

 

But I'dunno, for a game this big to run smoothly online I automatically assume that they will have to limit character creation in some way. From what I remember, it would take quite a bit of time to start a match in WWE to render created wrestlers online, you can't have that in a game like GTA.

Don't they have a feedback system they have set up specifically for the online portion of the game? I reckon if enough people voice their opinions on this god awful joke of a customization feature Rockstar will give in and make the necessary changes.

Hopefully they will. People who create their own characters in-game usually like to base it off their actual selves or at least be able to give them any look they please. Here I don't feel like I'm getting any of that. They just force you to merge some character models together and there you go, that's a great "creation" system for you.

I'm happy for you mate, but alot of people here prefer to have more control over their character's looks, but instead we're being forced to merge different character models until we get something that is somewhat acceptable.

Odd thing though, even if your character looks a bit wrinkled in the face at creation, putting a young age will remove most wrinkles in-game!

 

Just like having too much Illegal Criminal Activy-stats will change your face from creation to in-game
