Rockstar don't care about us.

Yes, it is both obvious and disappointing to learn today that Rockstar could give two f*cks about us, the customer.

Obviously they had the ability and common sense to foresee that upon launch, GTA: O would be totally loaded with people trying to connect. Obviously they knew that their servers were going to be receiving many hundreds of thousands of connections.

But yet, they chose to do absolutely f*ck all about it. They chose not to condition/upgrade servers at the expense of what would be, to a company like Rockstar a small price to pay.

They exercised pure calculated (save every penny at any cost) business decisions at the expense of customer satisfaction.

At the very least they could have executed better measures to deal with server load, like not forcing every body to start some damn race right at the beginning, which messes every thing up as you require people to connect etc.

These problems we're seeing are all very straightforward and easy to deal with. However for Rockstar, it seems, it wasn't worth the effort.

It doesn't matter what the company is these days, it'll just get hated. I have noticed that.

Either the quality of companies has rapidly declined, or people just love to complain...

Lol, if they're so easy to deal with, why does just about every major online release experience the same problems? Hell, as far as I know Sim City is still having major issues, and that was released months ago.

Kids like you shouldn't be playing the game.

What, 'kids' stating the truth?

So what you are saying, is that they should have just bought a bunch of servers, without having any idea how much bandwith would be consumed?

And as you make a pointless thread like this, they are DEFINITELY working on getting everything running, so please be patient, and shut the f*ck up.

As much as I hate to complain and go on about things that everybody else and their grandmother is, I really don't think it makes me a kid for having a dig at Rockstar for their blatant lack of consideration for customer satisfaction.

If anything, it makes you a kid for jumping on the 'ohhh rockstar are really good and they will fix it, just be nice to them, pls, i love them' bandwagon. If nobody complained, you know what? Every game with online features would have sh*t server connections etc because why improve when the customer states no desire for better conditions and improvements. Get real...

People seem to think that throwing more money/servers at the problem is what fixes things. This is not the case. It's about finding the most effective ways to manage the traffic and respond to the demand. They can't foresee exactly how things will go down on launch day. Yes, they knew there would be millions of people going online, but they can't know in advance exactly what happens when millions of people all rush the game. This game has never ever tried to handle millions of players, only now will they be getting the data they need to get things working over the next few days.

No, spoiled little brats who can't wait for maintenance to be performed, did you really expect everything to go smoothly with how many people will be trying to play all at once? Fool, the game will be down for a day or 2, 3 at max have some patience!

You said it. I'm afraid to go to YouTube and a GTA: Online video to see how much retardation there exists at the moment...

OP is kind of right. Rockstar could have done more to enable this launch to run smoothly.

They didn't though, because cash comes first.

It's just the world we live in.

They skipped today because in the UK, teachers are on strike so most students have a day off.

Rockstar KNEW how many people were predicted to connect at the same time, they had two weeks to set up.

I think there is a certain amount of research, common sense & information that Rockstar had at their disposal which could have been used to ensure that they got their server capabilities nearer the mark that was necessary to deal with today's issues. It wouldn't have been a total guessing game, Rockstar blatantly just crossed their fingers and hoped for the best. Pathetic.

Oh and lets cease the 'kids' comments lads, it really is sad. As soon as somebody says something that you don't agree with - 'kid!' - funnily enough that is a really CHILDISH way of dealing with a contrasting viewpoint.

It's typical. These prebuscents are dumb enough to think what they're saying is fact. The truth is, that Rockstar's dedicated servers are NOT the problem, but rather the funneling server, responsible to matchmake you and redirect your save files to the cloud. There isn't enough bandwith for that server to do it properly, because there are probably multiple millions right now trying to play the game.

Part of me hopes they just say screw it, and pull the plug on GTA 5 online. The amusement of watching that would probably outweigh the joy being able to play the game.
