To those in the UK, has anyone made it past the first race?

Everything working fine, all up until i enter the first race, then i get the host error.

I also get that error if i dont boot up online in "solo session"

No haven't managed to get onto GTA 'online' yet and can't invite players to an invite only session...

getting a bit fed up now, so am going to give it a chance to sort it self out whilst I do something more productive.

I started, couldn't host. Tried solo session, got through to the race, couldn't connect, tried again and crashed loading.

 

Now im downloading BF4 Beta so the day is not totally lost

I can also confirm a no (I'm in the West-Midlands for what that's worth).

 

I should also probably note that I get disconnected at the first race.

From what i gather from my current situation, it seems like the matchmaking server is taken completely offline, because there is no response from the game whenever you try to do anything that needs matchmaking.

 

So hopefully they are working on a fix

Can't get past the first race. most of the time just says failed to host session. Gave up for today.

I doubt they would launch GTAO and then leave all the bugs and error to be fixed/looked at tomorrow as employees have finished, they might have to stay for longer etc. They would be working around the clock, atleast they should be.

haha their not just gonna call it a day when the game is not online, and they probably have scheduled night shifts for weeks until the game is free of bugs, this is standard for any online game launch

Urr... I don't think game developers do night shifts. They might be getting some overtime dollar though

I got on at Noon, created my character and got through the first race. Did most of the first mission but then it froze just before the payoff. I haven't tried again since, but to be honest i was just glad i got my character name sorted.

Still getting the "Failed To Host Session" error. Entire day has turned into a bust because R* didn't plan ahead accordingly. And this is without the Australians trying to get online at the same time as everyone else.

I cant even get the first race to start, it just disconnects or the marker doesn't show at all.

 

We do have a sh*tty 6mb internet connection in this house but I dont think that's the problem.

Doesnt matter if their region is not allowed in.

 

They might open up for eastern europe, let that settle in for.... 10-30 minutes, then open up more regions until they see the servers start to overload, sort it and then open up more regions

Yeah my character erased also. Gonna get off now, but gonna keep looking at this thread. Hopefully it's fixed at around 10ish!

Still nothing here, however when the race was loading I got my first hint in the top right corner if that's something...

New things happened to me right before I switched off.

I could make a private server, and basically ran around. Except it was massively glitched out, only the top half of my body was visible. Then a notification came up saying "Rockstar's servers are now back up, you can connect by quitting. . ." or something similar to that. So I quit, to get the ordinary message, failure to connect.
