FIRST MISSION RACE TRIGGER ERROR

So when i go through all the introduction for GTA V online etc, and lamar takes me to the car park for a 'race' mission, it says go the race trigger, but there isn't a race trigger too go to!!

 

I've tried re-creating a character hoping it will work, but no, nothing.

 

I've tried switching between characters, but nothing yet still.

 

Something to do with the cloud R* save or something and it re-sets my character all the time.

 

I was really hoping for something amazing, but i was let down. I understand its launch day for Online, but still, simple things like this. Not being able to proceed from the first mission is such a massive glitch.

 

I've tried many times re-starting my xbox and also GTA but it doesn't do anything.

 

Does anyone else have the same problem?

After occuring has it ever fixed itself for anyone yet? after hitting randomize on the char gen many times to finally getting something somewhat passable i'd really rather not have to remake, but if thats the only way to fix it gotta be done.

After occuring has it ever fixed itself for anyone yet? after hitting randomize on the char gen many times to finally getting something somewhat passable i'd really rather not have to remake, but if thats the only way to fix it gotta be done.

 

I managed to get the trigger to appear after a while but it got stuck on "waiting for players" so I had to quit the game.

Whenever the cloud server is up (dont bother trying anything when its down, nothing will be saved).

I am able to get into the start of the race, by starting up online as a "solo session", but to be able to do the race, or to be able to start up online in a normal fashion, it seems my PS3 needs to connect to rockstars matchmaking server, which seems to be down. Because this is where it stalls every single time, it wont find any other users online.

Yeah, they're hiding the stickied threads above this one that deal with technical issues.

 

They didn't delete a bunch of duplicate threads in an attempt to clean up the forums and centralize discussion at all.

I had the same issue, someone on another thread said to restart the console. After switching from sp to online and still nothing I finally tried the consolw reset. It worked, but now when I go to start the race I get error messages. Failed to connect me, servers are down etc.
