How is anyone able to connect at all?

From what i have seen on these forums, either there are a decent amount of trolls or something is amiss. Somehow people are claiming they are already free roaming with a lot of other players, and that there aren't many issues for them, yet for about 98% of everyone else (including me), we haven't been able to get on for 1 second. I have been trying to connect since 6 AM when it first opened, and have had 0% luck except for a glitch letting me free roam on a private server which basically was completely boring as there were no missions at all.

 

How are these people who are supposedly online with others even getting past the Rockstar cloud? I'm totally confused.

well i had issues getting the race mission going, but once i got through that, i was playing for a good solid hour without much issue. i banked about $15k, did some missions, etc. Then when one of the team deathmatches ended and it spawned the next one after we all voted, the game sat there loading indefinitely. I was still able to talk to the people in the game but none of us were progressing to the deathmatch. i finally decided to go back to the xbox dashboard and then go back into multilplayer, and now i get an error saying the rockstar cloud server is down.

Ive been watching streams with people playing the game to its full extent, no lag or anything.

This however seem to only be players on Xbox360.

 

I have yet to see anyone on PS3 actually playing it

I was playing fine a few hours ago, then I started playing a mission, the game froze completely, rebooted, played one race, after the race ended, it got stuck on the voting page. Now when I switch to my online character, I get a black screen and have to dashboard

I was but the game freezed and crashed. still ok tho. the character models for the females are actually ebtter then I thought they would be

It would help everyone if you would state your console when you tell us whether or not your game worked or not, its really hard to come up with any answers if you dont

Yeah I've been having really bad problems like, not even being able to create my own character. That's how bad it is for me. Also I think they'll try and fix everything by later. Hopefully, fingers crossed.

I managed to play for about 2 hours (on xbox) before it got stuck loading a mission forever and since then I can't get back in.

I got in, but I'm stuck on the 'waiting for other players' screen when the first mission starts.

Yeah i think it's the xbox players that can at least get in every once and a while, PS3, not so much at all.... I have a PS3 and connecting is literally impossible.

I'm not even trying anymore or maybe a few times, but I don't expect to really play today.

 

Hopefully it will work this weekend, when I'll be playing online the whole weekend with friends. Though I'm worried we have to postpone it

I couldn't connect all morning myself, then suddenly it just worked for like 20 minutes, now it's back to being a butt head.

Keep getting really wierid glitches for the first race "mission" sometimes It'll let me in sometimes I'll see 8 or 9 other players then they just die and fall into the ground I'm on the xbox 360 btw.

Still on the 'waiting for other players' screen. I heard a sound that sounded like someone connecting their mic a couple minutes ago. So maybe I am connected with other people but it's still not loading. Or there just isn't enough people yet.
