A big sarcastic round of applause for R* *clap clap*

This is hilarious. Poor R* even WARNED you that the launch would be rocky, and people are still crying like spoiled brats! I hope R* is drinking the tears of all these spoiled kids that skipped school so they could play GTA:O.

By the way, to the guy working in networking... you probably work networking for some small, tiny network in hicktown, USA. I guarantee you're not networking on anywhere close to the same level as a massive online world that has THOUSANDS of servers running right now to keep up with the demand. IF you know networking so well, you would know that this isn't abnormal. Every single launch of a online service that I have ever participated in, gaming wise, has been like this. I've been around the block many times with MMOs, this is nothing compared to some of the disasters I've experienced. I those cases, players WERE actually PAYING for the online service, and only the online service, and I never saw half the complaining concerning those games as I have seen on here.

Keep on rocking R*, don't let the haters get you down!

I'm an ICT tech for the RAF, with CCNP and years experience. Making assumptions like that is as bad as the crowd that reply to literally ANY negative feedback on the game with "lol, you mum bought you the game, stop crying". So yes, I work with very large, complex networks. Given, I don't work for a gaming producer so i'm not claiming inside knowledge, but anyone with industry knowledge of, well, how a large network like this even works, knows that this was totally avoidable. The reason it wasn't, was a low-risk financial decision. If they made a mistake with their sales projections, they should have delayed the release. Released content should be usable, that is not a crazy thing to expect from a product. It's simply the way games are going these days, that it is far more profitable to push something out that isn't working yet, recoup sales money, and use that to patch it. Less financial risk, and the only loser is the frustrated consumer, and who cares about that?

The arguments i'm seeing saying "you can't expect it to be perfect" don't hold up either. This is true, you can't expect perfection, or even close to it. What I can expect though, is it to be useable. It is not. With your assesertion that "every online game launches like this", also untrue. I'm not sure what online games you've been playing, but i've played a fair few MMO's on launch day, FIFA14 on launch day, and didn't enounter a game anywhere near being unplayable. They all have little issues, the odd kick here and there, but only minor teething.

Look, I love Rockstar, one of my fave gaming companies, but they HAVE dropped the ball and I haven't seen anything that suggests that it's going to be working fully anytime soon. As I said, I haven't even been able to use the iFruit app, and that's not sorted yet. This could take weeks to fix, and however you look at it, that's unacceptable. A lot of people who bought the game did so with their main interest being the online content, as GTA loses it's appeal a little once you've done everything single player has to offer.

But yeah, i'll leave it at that, unless...god forbid, I get a response that is actually a fair argument and isn't just the bleeting of the mass of fanboys. (Not actually refering to the person I replied to, who did actually at least take a few minutes to think about their post)

All these people bitching about online even after Rockstar themselves said it's going to be a laggy/bug-filled launch..

People have a right to bitch about it they payed for the game. You can call gta online free but if it wasn't included with 5 then the game would suck. I say the story for gta 4 was better than 5 since 5 was nothing more than a sort of tutorial for online...WHICH I CAN'T EVEN PLAY!!

I don't buy any video games that do not have a multiplayer. This includes GTA. The days of single player only games are over.

Most of the fun in any game, comes from multiplayer. Endless hours of fun, something that you can't get from the "One and Done" storyline.
