Cross-Platform Player Stats/Progress

Hey Guys,

 

I bought GTA V for both 360 and PS3 so that I could play Online with different sets of my friends on their respective consoles. I haven't opened my 360 copy yet, but was wondering if anyone else did the same, and if so, if your created player persists on both consoles via your social club linkage.

 

The goal here is to play online and rank-up with the same "character," regardless of what console I'm using. If I can't do that, I may just leave my 360 friends behind and get my $60 back... :sadface:

 

If anyone has tried this, I'd really appreciate the knowledge-share. Thanks!

Anyone have both versions of the game that can check on this?

Going to bump this one last time now that more people have been able to get online. Can anyone confirm the answer to my question?

Based on the way Social Club stores your career progress online, it looks like the cross-platform persistent character progress is a no-go. Very disappointed by this... Guess I'll have to decide between a 360 career or a PS3 career. At least I'm only level 15 on PS3...
