Why don't we have separate free aim and passive servers?

What about having passive servers for people to do missions and not having some crappy passive mode exist other than on passive servers? RDR did this already.

There is absolutely no reason for auto aim in MP. It would be like auto aim in COD or MP3.

Hopefully some of us are old enough to remember when Red Dead didn't have Friendly and Hardcore... it takes time! Online just "started" today. It took months before Red Dead had friendly free roam and even then people could kill you with explosive bullets.

Because it matters f*ck all. If you think auto aim is too OP, enable auto aim for yourself. If not, shut the f*ck up and kill them with free aim.

 

They're not gonna put people with auto aim in separate servers, because then 5% of everyone will be put in auto aim servers, leaving deserted and empty games.

 

This is so ignorant and just plain dumb.. Auto-aim vs free aim is not fair and there are much more free aimers then you think, it might be even more than people who use auto-aim. Seriously,why put it on anyway, lazyness?

I am mainly a PC gamer. I want also to play on my console, but I find the controller to be absolutely sh*t at aiming; it is way better than mouse and keyboard at let`s say tennis, in Top Spin, or boxing, in Fight Night, even in Assassins Creed, with relative aim, but absolutely crap in FPS type of games. I am STILL playing FPS type of games on PC and I cannot stand the slowness with which I acquire target with a controller, let alone the uncomfortable feeling I have with it.

 

So, auto-aim is a must for me, right now. I might never go towards free aim, or I might transition one day - that is entirely my business and nobody else`s problem. I have every right to enjoy this game as everybody else, like it or not. I am not lazy, I just don`t want to practice 8 hours a day on a controller that will never feel "right". I MIGHT get to where I can use it to a certain degree for free aim, but that is on my own time, thank you very much...

Free roam without players killing each other would be good.

 

Robbing people is good in theory, but I can just store my cash during a job through my phone and be safe from being robbed anyways. People who kill other players end up camping that player, which is bad if you're in the middle of nowhere. It's just ridiculous.

You only get in lobbies with your aim choice and if passive isn't good enough then go private/use mic/go solo.

Please don't lump every free aimer into the "twitch" category. Twitch shooting is a COD reference because the maps are small and you run into people around every other corner.

 

GTA V is not like this. There's plenty of map to move around in, so twitch aiming won't be nearly as prevalent. It's not like strategy, positioning and using cover go out the window just because free aim is enabled.

 

IMO Auto Aim detracts A LOT from the online experience and makes gun fights boring, while removing the rewarding feeling you get from taking down a bunch of guys using your own aiming skills.

It does definatly seem seperate for free roam, for jobs on the other hands i've run into quite a few people who snap between npcs.

 

Also about passive, I've played ALOT since it went up, and it was never a real issue, I think its a must with these insane medical bills tbh.

 

Also if you want to target someone just put a bounty on them first, that way they can't use passive.

Yeah I'm in the no auto-aim camp. Not because I am some leet gamer who wants to show off my skills but auto-aim takes away one of the largest advantages that this game has to offer. And that is using the map to your full advantage. I know it killed my enjoyment in GTA IV when I'd spend a good chuck of time position myself in very sneak and out of the way areas to line up shots. Only to be killed in a matter of seconds because auto-aim not only aims for you but it finds your opponent for you. Not sure exactly where you opponent is? No worries just hit auto-aim and aim in any general direction and you'll lock on to them. Really kills creative gameplay for me.

 

Ideally I wish that aiming wasn't handled in passive servers verses free-aim servers but rather the type of aim you choose is also the type of aim others can use against you.

So if you choose auto-aim, the only people who you can auto-aim against would be the ones who also have it engaged.

If you choose free aim, you can't auto-aim but you don't register on other people's list of auto-aim'able targets.

And just to keep things fair for newer players if you have a string of deaths in a short amount of time you get a temporary buff that allows you to auto-aim on all players regardless of their aiming selection. Or just make it a 'revenge' buff where if you are killed 3 times in a row by the same player they get added to your 'list' of auto-aim'able targets. Shrugs.

 

Or the casuals can go back to playing Candy Crush and let the real gamers have their fun. >.>

This is a really stupid way of doing it. There should be auto aim or free aim lobbies that you can choose from when looking for a game. (Rockstar themselves wanted GTA:Online to stand on its own legs & be completely seperate from single player)

 

Same with passive mode lobbies and free for all lobbies. Passive mode lumped in regular free mode is stupid, this is GTA not the sims. You can deposit cash into your bank with your phone so killing people trying to get to ATM's isn't an issue.

 

Also being able to set your car to where someone can't jack it is a stupid feature. This is Grand Theft Auto, stealing cars. You should feel vulnerable from others but now you can just lock your car to only you or friends only. Too much has been put in place that takes the chaos and danger out of GTA. You wanna go to safe mode only, that's fine but there should be a designated server for that where everyone is passive. Not just going to safe mode on the fly
