Why don't we have separate free aim and passive servers?

Iknow in RDR had Normal(Auto-aim), Hardcore(Free aim), and Friendly(Passive) Free roam modes. So everyone was happy, why hasn't Rockstar learned anything from RDR?

I haven't actually been able to get into free-roam (managed to do the first race, but then got stuck on a never ending loading screen)

That does sound dissapointing though.

I don't want to play with auto-aim, but I don't want to be using free-aim against auto-aimers either

I think your mistaken on this. I joined a friends world and it told me I had to change my aiming settings and I said ok. After getting dced and sent back to single player auto-aim(which I had on to try and convince my wife to play last night "see its easy you just hit the aim button and it aims for you" ... still didn't work) was off. So I think there definitely is some separation, but it may require someone hosting a game and altering the settings.

But we can't disabled the awful new glorified vote to kick system and we cannot disable passive mode.

I have also heard that players can join you and have whatever settings they want.

So? You get to prove to everybody how pro-skill player you are by playing with free aim... isn`t this what you wanted, to have a challenge? Well, now your mission is to aim faster than they do.. manually... that should keep you busy and off the forums...

This thread on on the issue that Rockstar learned f*cking nothing from RDR on Online options.

So no one is upset by the lack of passive mode and auto aim not being separated by different servers lime RDR?

Someone post a picture of that crying baby..

So just because I want these feature to separate like Rockstar did in past games, something that would not affect anyone badly, I am a cry baby? WTF

RDR had completely skill-less MP

Why do you argue against having separate passive servers and separate free aim servers?

Because it matters f*ck all. If you think auto aim is too OP, enable auto aim for yourself. If not, shut the f*ck up and kill them with free aim.

They're not gonna put people with auto aim in separate servers, because then 5% of everyone will be put in auto aim servers, leaving deserted and empty games.

Because a competition between auto-aimers is utterly pointless. Like what'll you be competing for? Who is the most skilled at having a target automatically assigned and aimed at? It's a joke, seriously.

OP what are you on about

Unless you specifically turn auto aim on in the settings, all matches are default free aim.

And peoples settings do not transfer.

Except for RDR did put all players with free aim in a server and all with auto aim in their own servers online. It's only logical to think this game would have done the same thing. I haven't been online yet, but if it mixes everyone together, then I really don't understand why Rockstar would do that.

Maybe because they saw with RDR that the servers with auto aim were mostly empty and that was boring. So in order to keep the servers full they're mixing it all together.

Maybe there was a reason no one was playing with auto aim? But we at least need to separate passive mode out to passive servers.

Then perhaps there shouldn't be auto-aim?

It's a valid point , i know a couple people who stopped playing because of the auto-aim became popular and they didn't want it..

it is what it is.. i don't mind either. if theres autoaim you have to spend more time thinking about cover a lot more.. with manual aim, people suck so bad it generally doesn't matter haha

Yea, but I hope Rockstar will get it together with passive servers and free aim servers.

Rockstar should get rid of auto-aim it just ruins the game and is used by kids who have no talent what so ever.

Finally registered as a long time lurker. I totally agree with you OP and support this move. I won't let it die until we have an answer. If it's not the answer we want, we will keep asking until we get free aim servers.

I've been playing all night in free aim. As far as I was aware so was everyone else.

The game told me I HAD to switch to auto aim when I joined my friend in his game. I presume because the session he was in was auto aim.

The choice you make in single player carries over because I couldn't make the choice during the actual MP sessions.

So to summarise:

Single player auto aim = MP auto aim

Single player free aim = MP free aim
