No Airport/Military base

I've just noticed the airport and military base entrances are blocked off, does anyone know why or if they can be opened?

Not sure, but I can tell you that you can definitely get inside the military base from the air.

Unfortunately not, unlocking at a certain level would be odd, what if you are playing with lower level players and you want to enter the airport, weird

Yea, I stated this earlier today. You can fly into these spots.

 

But Im certain you unlock them since the airport is one of the places you use to store your planes

I managed to get into the airport & fort zancudo by jumping a car over the fences. The airport was empty inside with no planes or vehicles, but FZ had a tank patroling, and a cargobob landed, but took off again before I could get to it.

No wanted level for being in the base/airport, but of course I got destroyed when I tried to steal the tank

There are other ways in, i'm watching people inside Fort Zancudo right now on a live stream, you have to jump into the base with a vehicle.

Well, one reason i could see the airport being blocked off is to avoid trolling on the behalf of players who want to destroy million dollar planes that other players own. That's my guess, at least.

As I said, I've been to both places - but only because the first mission bugged out allowing me to 'free roam' if you can call it that. Posonby's, Binco are all unenterable and gas stations & liquor stores all say they're closed because they've just been robbed.

 

I dunno if you are playing the same way as me, but I'd guess that's why most places are closed for now.

Remember that GTA online was released maybe a couple of hours ago plus the airport and military base will probably be opened up in upcoming updates.

Did you see my previous post about bugged freeroam? If not, basically I'm able to free roam, only because the mission I'm supposed to complete is buged out (the race).

 

So I was saying that you can't even go inside Posonbys, so it's prolly the reason the gates aren't working and planes aren't spawning.

 

There is a cargobob & a tank at FZ tho

Hmmm ok, so maybe check if you can enter stores like Posonbys & Binco, also LS customs (I can drive in, and drive around the workshop, but no mods) And if you go to every liquor store or 24/7 and it tells you it's just been robbed - I think it could all be related.

I just don't get why the would lock the gates from the OUTSIDE yet have races etc. on the inside that you can easily get to and complete by simply plowing through the side fences to access the runways, then have the gates open from the INSIDE for you to freely exit the area, and also after completing the races spawning in a completely different area miles from where you started.
