Online protag's icon in character wheel

I've created a character in Online, and having the same issues as everybody else on here trying to connect and actually play the damn thing.

 

But in SP mode... when you bring up the character wheel, the bottom icon is still a shaded out grey silhouette. Will it permanently look like this or will eventually we see an avatar of our character down the bottom? Maybe it's working for some people already?

I speculate that we will be able to see our character's avatar. Though for the record, you can make multiple characters, for those not aware. They level up separately, from the look of things.
