Supercar/bike sound speeding away in distant background?

When you are outside you can hear that SAME sound over and over again (even on isolated areas such as desert or forest), a superecar (or superbike) speeding up in background, slowly fading away.

The only car that matches that sound is Carbonizzare and probably the Bati 800. I can't tell exactly which vehicle can be heard.

Your thoughts?

i just heard that too and i thought god damn i wish my car would sound like that, sounds awesome.

Yup, you can hear it all the time. Reminds me of NFS Underground/Fast and Furious, i just wonder what vehicle is that...

I always thought it was a bike, I can agree it does get repetitive, it would be great if there were more ambient noises in the countryside areas (the sound also plays when in the city), but I guess we'll have to settle for the same superbike sound, which is odd as bike's aren't as common as the sound makes them to be.

Carbonizzare nearly matches that sound. I'm not 100% sure it is a superbike. If i recall correctly, previous GTA's had more variety in terms of ambient BG noises, from different car sounds, to horns etc.

It seems the city has a huge variety of nice ambient sounds (especially the industrial areas). I guess I can see why the countryside wouldn't have as much going on around it, but I would still prefer some more sounds to the same engine sound when out of the city.

I think it's some fat british woman farting. I've heard it since I've been playing. It's like a PS1 loop or something lol

It's not an actual vehicle making the sound it's just a sound Rockstar added from Midnight Club: Los Angeles to make it sound like there's a racing going on in the distance.

Interesting. Can you provide us more info about this?

The comment explains itself. It's a background noise there's nothing more to it.

I wonder why they decided to only have 1 really loud background noise and the rest are softer. I hear that sound constantly, its interesting that they made it about 92384750923485 times louder than the other background sounds so you can hear it loop, and its audiable from any location on the map. Luckily it's a good noise.

From experience of playing both games, both of the sound effects are very similar. You would understand if you had played Midnight Club.

If you go to the LS river at night, there are Mexican gangs racing and hanging out. Maybe it's them.

Can you guys please post a recording or video clip of this sound. I can't find it anywhere online, and I am unable to record it myself.

You hear it all the time, in LS and the rest of the county. It's like a sound of a supercar doing a drag race. I can't describe it any better.

The best place to hear it is in the wilderness because then there's less ambient noise to drown it out.

I've been playing NFS Most Wanted (2005) recently, and there are similar noises. It's just a sound effect of a distant vehicle at high speed.

It's a sound you hear all the time. Where I live in Australia especially on the weekends I hear a similar noise a few times during the night lol, i live near the beach and people race up and down the road close to where I live, pretty sure it's a common sound all over the place it's a nice detail by Rockstar.

I live in a pretty affluent neighborhood by a busy highway, so i never go an hour without hearing some sportbike or nice engine note in the distance when im home. Although in game its pretty repetitive.

Never thought of it as repetitive. At least not an annoying repetition. It's definitely not an actual car driving somewhere. It's just a sound file playing to give a sense of atmosphere. I like it.
