^XBox seems to have better luck, but it seems to be corrupting things so I wouldn't trust it.

We're not missing out as PS3-users. I doubt it's enjoyable at very much.

No, there are a lot of 360 owners who are also having trouble. Their are a lucky few who can get into the game, but pretty much the only thing you can do is free roam. Getting into missions and you'll be stuck on the loading screen.

Yeah went into solo mode just to try and experience it. Went to the race marker and boom got kicked and then said save data corrupted. Then I gave up and went to bed lol. Things will get better just have to be patient I guess

I'm stuck on this screen too. I started trying to connect around 3:30 PM PST on the xbox360. My player just auto-walks to the mission marker and any maps or menus are inaccessible.

 

I've tried waiting for it to connect to players, returning to the dashboard, and all of the different sessions. Nothings happening. Haven't checked in half an hour.

If anyone is having trouble, try stretching the game's legs out by creating a solo game online. Just go to the ONLINE pane of the pause menu, hit join a game and then solo game should be at the bottom.

 

This also (Apparently) works for those who are having difficulty with starting the very FIRST mission, which is the race. My first problem was that the f*cking marker carousel wouldn't even spawn. After leaving it for around eight or so hours, I got back on the Xbox and tried again. The marker carousel that sits in front of you after you get out of

Lamar's

car. Finally, it actually popped up. However, the next wall I ran into is the race not loading properly.

 

This is annoying, obviously, because you CANNOT join a multiplayer mode unless you finish the tutorial. Which is also annoying. Because it doesn't sodding work. SO. To combat this, use the solo play, and apparently that'll work.

 

Not for me though. Sill doesn't work for me. NOTHING EVER DOES.

I used the solo play as well, didn't work, the marker will not spawn, tried it at least a dozen times.

 

also have tried literally every other option suggested, nothing works. It just either sits at the "waiting for other players" screen or says "loading session" I figured it was my internet connection, but a friend with high speed had the same problems. I really don't know why rockstar didn't anticipate this, your server overloads after you launch the online to the highest selling game of all time. what did you expect? I've waited half a year more for this game than I should have so you could work on your precious online, so you could milk more money out of people with content updates and now it doesn't even work? Thanks rockstar, at least now EA will have someone to sit with at lunch.

 

UPDATE: I got through the race and have played for about 2 hours in online, but I can't do any missions or activities, it always says can't connect to host or some bullsh*t. I also can't join any of my friends games or anything. was looking forward to the online, now i'm just done with it. It just feels like Rockstar put a great deal into the online, but not in the right places. They really, really should have included many of online's features into SP instead of forcing me to try and play the broken ass online so I can experience what I should be able to without the internet.

I get stuck at the loading screen for the first race after the introductory custscene. It says launching session, but in never launches. Anyone else having this issue?

My f*cking problem is that some people are level 25+ and I have not even got on yet so they will have all the superior weapons and f*ck me up in free roam bullsh*t

I deleted the update and re downloaded it and worked the first try. Maybe its a corrulted download from everyone trying at once.

I've been trying to get on the online 4pm till now 1:30 am but it just let me create my character and then puff nothing happens it's says something like that I couldn't connect or find a host or something like that. I know we need to be patient but I really hope Rockstar to fix this very soon.

Well my characters are saving now and im getting timed out errors so signs of improvement i guess. what they need to do is shut down all servers. Cant be easy to fix with millions of people trying to join constantly.

Tried deleting the update and trying again and I'm still having the same problems...

On PS3 and managed to bypass the first race because the glowy thing didn't load... took a few photos of the internet pages before I tried again and only got the loading screen!

 

New cars called the Khamelion and one called the Carbon R... Also you can buy the hotknife and the Elegy is free. It's also interesting because it looks like the pictures are still in development... very much a work in progress Rockstar, disappointed.

 

You can buy more helicopters and planes than in SP...

Lots of properties available to buy including garages ranging from 2-10 cars! So you can have multiple garages... no collectors edition restrictions on that I guess!

 

You also get RP for losing wanted stars... I got to level 2 by losing 4 stars a couple of times before I decided to try and get online again.

I started trying to get in at 6 A.M. right when the servers went live. and got stuck on the first race waiting for players. after a few tries of going to the home screen and restarting, it spawned me in the air over the vinewood sign - I fell, lost half my life, and saw someone else standing there who just had the same thing happen.

 

I was then able to pull robberies, fight other players, put monies into my savings account and do all sorts of fun stuff before I went to work... when I came home and logged back in, my character had reverted to the starting mission, walks into the circle on her own, and wait's for players, the few times I've gotten into the loading session also froze on me as well.

Don't waste your time deleting the update and then re-installing it. I just did it and it didn't solve a thing. It just froze up at the exact same spot as it did before I did the reinstall.

Lol I have to recreate my character again. That's twice that I have to bring an ugly character into this world... Rockstar character creation FTW!!!

 

It wouldn't be as bad if they went by ethnic groups instead of numbers. Like White-1-10 options Black-1-10 options Asian-1-10 options Hispanic-1-10, but not, you have to squint and look at the ugly characters they force to be your parents and grandparents. This game is... It makes me sad seeing potential die within my grasp

 

Sorry for taking a different direction there lol, but yeah, GTAO needs to work right now!
