So by your logic than people who work hard and are successful at something have no right to be compensated for their hard world? And a company just has the right to turn off the internet and erase your work without notice or without explanation. I am sorry if you don't understand legal speak, but it doesn't change the fact that there are 2 characters out there that are my intellectual property and they were deleted without any reason or notice. Put yourself in my shoes or in their shoes for that matter and how would you feel if you were suddenly erased and then re-created and then erased again??? I doubt you'd be too impressed with that now would you?

 

You are right when you say that noone forced me to play the online portion, but I was forced to play the single player portion for over 3 weeks. Now I've been waiting patiently for days to play the online and its been nothing but one problem after another and it's not right. And all I'm asking for is some compensation for my work and stress. You were forced to play the single player portion for 3 weeks (actually... it was exactly 2 weeks until GTA Online started)? Who forced you to get GTA V on day one, when it was stated that GTA Online wasn't starting as of October 1st? Also... sitting in front of a TV with a controller in your hand is "work and stress"? My character is still here (though some of my progress was removed, it was very little, guessing servers went down when I was playing)

Still can't do any missions (as nobody joins me/gane puts me in someone elses) so it's basically back to normal

When R* told us that the only way to get certain items in the game was by pre-ordering it, they essentially forced us to buy it on day one, now didn't they? So when they only release certain things in the game that, according to them, are only available to people who preorder (ie the blimp) it forces people to pre-order the game. They ended up giving the blimp away afterwards anyway, and that is something I most certainly mention to my lawyer.

 

And as far as the hard work and stress goes, the answer to your question is yes. If you read through the hundreds of posts on here I would say that I am not the only one who is stressed out because of all these problems. It was hard work getting my man thousands of dollars and getting him other things, then they just go and erase him and the other man I created. As I stated previously, this is my intellectual property and I did not authorize ANYBODY to delete MY intellectual property. I feel bad for the people and the characters that were at higher levels than me. I can;t imagine how they must feel.

 

You are assuming that they will have the problems fixed, but I have seen no evidence of this as of yet. I miss the men I created and they will never see the light of day again. If R* returns my intellectual property that is rightfully mine to me I will consider not suing as long as they offer further compensation.

My two Zion coupes are still on my ifruit app ordered paint jobs for them and successfully sent, kinda hoping it might bring my online guy back but I highly doubt it,

 

Checked the online side a few times since 2pm and still no character has come back but my money is still there??

 

I did however get to explore underwater running about lol if you go far out past 480ft you end up somewhere random on map ( dry land )

This is another example of someone just arguing to prove a point to someone that wants to be compensated for there time. It's his opinion, it doesn't mean it's right but at the same time why the f*ck so u care so much?

Huh? I told you what you can and can not do? Where?

 

By the way. The decision that you want to have that blimp was your decision. The decision to preorder the game was your decision. The decision to play the single player part was your decision. It's not about "I played single player, because online GTA online mode wasn't available then and so I was forced to play single player.", it is about your decision to play the single player mode instead of doing something completely different. Like... playing another game, or watching TV, or sleeping, or smoking pot, or doing sports, or... Rockstar Games is in no way responsible for your decision to play GTA V, which means: They didn't force you to play GTA V. Clear enough?

 

And your intellectual property... hmmm... the graphics are R* intellectual property, the game is R* intellectual property, even the things you were able to do in game are R* intellectual property. The only thing you did was using their intellectual property for your own pleasure, which created a set of data on their hardware which (maybe... it's not clear as of yet, as long as their servers are down) got deleted by a software malfunction.

So I was able to free roam however I was unable to do any missions/jobs.

I was told 'Rockstar [social Club] services are unavailable. Return to GTA Online [and try again later.]'

 

So trust me, if you are unable to get online you aren't missing out, it's just main story without as much money or guns, worse graphics and no special ability.

 

The servers must be down (to an extent.)

Only some people may be able to get online.

So don't worry, your character may not be deleted, just some of the server data is missing.

Don't worry, their is still much hope as people with characters don't have R* social club either, proving they are just down with a very slim chance you can actually reach the server!

I'm not sure why they are not addressing these issues or making any statements about this. Its just ridiculous, I mean what kind of company does this kind of stuff to their loyal customers. They have shafted all of us and we don't deserve it.

Really?!?! You know you are playing a video game, and not working a job... Are you really as much of an entitled little narcissist as you make your self seem? You paid $60 (or $150) for a game. In my opinion the single player alone was worth what i paid for this game. Look at GTA IV I paid that much last time and the single player was not nearly what it is now.

 

Before the game was released R* said that online was a work in progress. From my point of view it has been getting better everyday that I have played. This is much more of a response than I can say from nearly any other company trying to handle an online release of this type of magnitude. Also, you should recognize that interfacing through Xbox Live and Playstation Network adds just that much more complexity to the issue.

 

With two title updates, and multiple updates from R* this would constitute as them addressing the issues.

 

 

Listen, I am not trying to start a beef with anyone. I am just saying that being forced to create multiple characters in order to play a game that I paid for is simply not fair. First of all they made everyone wait 3 weeks for the multiplayer to come out and I was forced to play through the single player mode while I waited. Then they promised that it would be up and running on OCTOBER 1st!! It is now October 7th or 6th or something and they still have done NOTHING to address the issue. I think for all the time and hard work that myself and many others have put into the game we should at least be compensated. I am sorry if I didn't make myself clear on my first post and it came off a bit narcissistic.

 

I am in the process of writing a lengthy letter to R* about the issue. I figure I will have to send it by regular mail though because they turned off their internets.

We should ALL be compensated for our TIME as well as punitive damages! I have spent hours using my man and building up his stats and now he is gone. And so I had to create another man and he's gone too. An so is all of their belongings and their money. It's not fair to me, it's not fair to them and it's not fair to the hundreds of others that this is happening to. Ether they start giving us free stuff, in-game perks and downloadable games, or they are going to be experiencing HUGE lawsuits. Because as soon as the first person sues them others will follow. And its going to cost them millions of dollars, this is a classic case of false advertising and lying to consumers and constituents.

 

And yes, we were all forced to play through the single player game because they withheld the online feature for many weeks. What else were people supposed to do?? So they pretty much forced everyone, including yourself, to play the single player wether they wanted to or not because the online wasn't there. Unless you got to go online early and that's why you are giving me a hard time about it.

Thank-you. I don't see why people feel the need to argue with me, I think it's because they know I'm right. After being forced for weeks to play the single player mode I wanted an opportunity to play the on-line mode that they promised me would be part of the gaming experience. I was forced to create two separate characters using my own time and skill. I would estimate that it took me an average of 45 minutes to create each one. Now both of these characters are gone and nobody knows what happened to them. They do not deserve this kind of treatment, but I guess some people think that it's ok to erase people.

 

Some compensation for my time and effort and the misuse of my intellectual property would be nice. I am not asking for a lot, maybe just some in-game perks and 2 or 3 free games, either downloadable or disc copies. And if they don't compensate me I will take legal action. I guess people forget our basic rights as citizens.

I just tried online and all my character stats were there except his image. I choose the character and it gives me a new character. Now all my Social stats are wiped!

 

All stats are missing except RP, level 22 and cash earned. I turned the PS3 off as soon as it went to new character and it still saved and wiped. I hope it comes back.

Anyway, like I have stated previously, they forced us to play single player when they withheld the online portion. They lied to us about the availability of the online portion and have either stolen or misused my intellectual property without my permission. They have deleted, essentially killing, 2 of my characters without an apology or an explanation. But I guess you think it's ok to go around killing people?

I lost yet ANOTHER guy. This time I was at level 7, I was playing for like 2 or 3 hours straight. I didnt have a lot of cash because i spent it all on bullets. But come on! I have been forced to create 2 separate characters and now they are both gone! I have put in so much work and now I have nothing to show for it. R* is going to have to give all of us some free stuff, like maybe cash and cars and maybe like a game or 2. If not I will NEVER play any of their stupid games AGAIN!!

 

R* owes us something for all our hard work and nothing to show.

I'm not sure why they are not addressing these issues or making any statements about this. Its just ridiculous, I mean what kind of company does this kind of stuff to their loyal customers. They have shafted all of us and we don't deserve it.

Really?!?! You know you are playing a video game, and not working a job... What value do you place on hard work? and you say "R* is going to have to give all of us some free stuff, like maybe cash and cars and maybe like a game or 2." Are you really as much of an entitled little narcissist as you make your self seem? You paid $60 (or $150) for a game. In my opinion the single player alone was worth what i paid for this game. Look at GTA IV I paid that much last time and the single player was not nearly what it is now.

 

Before the game was released R* said that online was a work in progress. From my point of view it has been getting better everyday that I have played. This is much more of a response than I can say from nearly any other company trying to handle an online release of this type of magnitude. Also, you should recognize that interfacing through Xbox Live and Playstation Network adds just that much more complexity to the issue.

 

With two title updates, and multiple updates from R* this would constitute as them addressing the issues.

 

 

Listen, I am not trying to start a beef with anyone. I am just saying that being forced to create multiple characters in order to play a game that I paid for is simply not fair. First of all they made everyone wait 3 weeks for the multiplayer to come out and I was forced to play through the single player mode while I waited. Then they promised that it would be up and running on OCTOBER 1st!! It is now October 7th or 6th or something and they still have done NOTHING to address the issue. I think for all the time and hard work that myself and many others have put into the game we should at least be compensated. I am sorry if I didn't make myself clear on my first post and it came off a bit narcissistic.

 

I am in the process of writing a lengthy letter to R* about the issue. I figure I will have to send it by regular mail though because they turned off their internets.

As for the part about being "Forced" to play through the single player game, Nobody made you buy the game on release did they? Did somebody hold a gun to your head and force you to play the thing?

 

 

 

We should ALL be compensated for our TIME as well as punitive damages! I have spent hours using my man and building up his stats and now he is gone. And so I had to create another man and he's gone too. An so is all of their belongings and their money. It's not fair to me, it's not fair to them and it's not fair to the hundreds of others that this is happening to. Ether they start giving us free stuff, in-game perks and downloadable games, or they are going to be experiencing HUGE lawsuits. Because as soon as the first person sues them others will follow. And its going to cost them millions of dollars, this is a classic case of false advertising and lying to consumers and constituents.

 

And yes, we were all forced to play through the single player game because they withheld the online feature for many weeks. What else were people supposed to do?? So they pretty much forced everyone, including yourself, to play the single player wether they wanted to or not because the online wasn't there. Unless you got to go online early and that's why you are giving me a hard time about it.

 

I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about all this. You must work for R* or something.

Does this mean my character still exists? I can connect to the server to play alright, so if I make a character in slot 2 will my character still be able to come back to slot 1? (Or will saving a character to slot 2 while slot 1 is empty overwrite my old data entirely, assuming anybody knows)

You should keep track of dates and times that the incidents occurred. That's what I've done. That way when you talk to your lawyer you will have some evidence to present to them.

Personally, I would just not play. There is no point.

Being the servers are down, new characters probably won't be saved (nor will new progress with old characters be saved.

I guess it depends on you and your connection if you can reach R*s main server, but the SC side of it is down so you really con't do anything.

You'll just free roam alone as without SC server-side you can't do any Jobs, missions or otherwise, which you can do in main story anyway so their really is no point right now.

Just play single player free roam or otherwise, as GTA Online is no different right now.

I'm not exactly sure if that will work. I would stay away from making characters. My level 15 got deleted, so I made one in slot 2 just incase they would get my character back and I got my second character to level 30 last night and now both are gone..

 

I'm not even sure it's safe to say that you"ll get your character back. Who knows with rockstar considering they lack communication with there community and fail to provide feedback to request that u can file on there support site

Seems your in a slightly worse situation than Ive just put myself in. If I had your problem Id expect it to be gone but wouldnt touch anything.

 

On your Social at your online characters portrait in line with M F & T, Does it show a picture, rank and cash? I have what I figure is total stats on Social but not individual character. I really hope my 46 race wins and 8 losses dont get lost.

Uninstall the game from your hard drive then reinstall it again

^(Personal guess):The reason it somewhat works is that you contact R*'s servers, which establishes your connection with them, and being you've already contacted them, you read your GTA character (along with the other data, including update data) but once you need to re-establish a connection it may be missing.

That's my guess but it might be right you never know.

So I just spoke to this guy that I know again that is some sort of computer technician or something. I asked him if he knows anything about the R* clouds and servers and why my internet is working for some things but not others and he said that if the servers go out then I probably can't play the game. I don't really understand all this technical stuff but it seems like this is something that should have been fixed by now.

 

Part of me thinks that they are doing this on purpose so they can take the characters that we created and use them for other things, like other games and stuff.
