GTA Online Technical Issues

So my money's there and so's my crew. But nothing else.

I'm not losing my sh*t again so I'm just not going to play. Hopefully it will come back when the servers are "up".

I should be a rank 20 by now, the amount of playtime put in. We're talking around 20 hours lost. So for now R*, just like the last 3 days; go f*ck yourself.

Ive been playing at will for the past two days but its a catch. Only enter online from the start of the game. If you don't have the option the server is probably down. If you get stuck at a launching session screen for more then ten mins; quit to the dashboard and repeat. This is one of the best unknown ways to keep your player.

 

Im no tech guy but I love researching and learning new things.

 

The good thing about using a cloud server is you could go to your friends house, log in and continue your online career; because it's not saved on any one console. Its aslo surpose to deter mods due to the inaccessibility of the source code (although its been said mods have gotten the code anyway)

 

Its said everything saved to cloud servers are saved in multiple places so the lost of characters shouldn't happen. It seems its a problem with the code it self. Major websites use cloud server with little to no issues. Yet "almost everyone has experienced sorrow trying to connect.

 

Like someone said we have to HOPE this even can be fixed. We will know for sure if they switch back to saving your character on your console

Cloud servers down for last 5 minutes with me, been fine for around 3 hour with yesterdays character. PS3

 

Now Its making me start fresh again!

Yesterday I had my characters deleted but kept my money

 

Today I see the update is out so i downloaded it and it froze my ps3 a couple times, but i finally managed to get it to work. Then i try to go online and my new character and my money is gone. What a great update

I am done trying to get this game to work for now. I've been trying for pretty much 4 days straight with pretty much no luck, except for one incident where i was in for like 5 minutes but I had to go to the bathroom and when I came back I was somehow booted out. I have barely slept for the past 4 days just waiting for this to work. So I'm done, F-You R*. You have forced me to waste 4 days of my life and I have nothing to show for it except a terrible headache and sore stomach.

 

I am going to try again after the weekend to see if they've fixed it. Until then I am going to have to find another game to play. And I am not going to eat any more PF Changs for at least a day or 2.

Played yesterday then when I went on after the update my avatar and rank had been reset but my money that I banked and stats were still there, I created a new character in a different slot in case my old character came back and when i started up I still had my previous days money, it played perfect for 3 hours but I think the cloud was down when I switched off hope I don't get reset.

Maybe I'm too optimistic but maybe the cloud servers are down for the time they setup a more reliable network and fix everything so upon the xbox next title update, everything will be ok. This day will come for sure but...when ? I dunno...

I mean sure, I get you... I'm in the same boat and haven't really done much else... With the exception that I've actually slept quite lot.. Makes waiting easier.

 

And as a tip: watch twitch livestreams while you wait ... It kinda gives you some indication who are getting in (way more xbox360 streams now) AND you learn tips and tricks AND you're somewhat entertained.

 

Sure you're pissed, but they'll get it working eventually... I've had my ragemoments here too, so I understand... But just imagine: while you've done that, they've been working way overtime and probably there sleep deprived with sore stomachs aswell, trying to fix it. I hardly think that's worth a "f*ck you"...

 

It sucks it's not working, but they never meant it to be broken in the first place.

 

Then I'd tell em to f themselves if they wrote "screw this, we're going home and on a vacation.. We'll try next month when we get back to work"

 

And no offence to you at all.. Just saying: they'll have it working when it's possible... Making such a game for everyone mustn't be a simple task and their beta test group is nothing compared to the load the servers are receiving now.

 

 

So patience, brother-brother.. And stop torturing yourself over it there'll be the day when you're actually sick of playing it too much... Until then, we wait and if anything: wish rockstar good luck.

I thought of the same thing.. Maybe they're down for a reset that fixes things....

I went to install the patch today and it hard-crashed my PS3; booting back up it forced itself into filesystem restore, which failed at 21% leaving me the only option of formatting the HDD. Prior to this I'd not seen the filesystem restore dialog for over a year, and GTA V's been the only game to consistently crash or hang on me for ages. Probably just a coincidence, but I doubt I'll be playing the game again all the same.

Funny, when GTA IV came out, I played it for 15 minutes and my xbox 360 Red Ring of Death'd...

 

Now GTA V came out, bought the digital version for ps3 and had insane amount of trouble with downloading and installing it... And now the online is giving us trouble.

 

 

Lol.. Rockstar really seems to push the very limits of consoles with their games.. Or maybe it's just coincidental... Who knows

Ok so here's a rare, good techinical issue. I was doing the Violent Ducts thing for quite awhile. Saved up to buy a house. After I bought the house I went and did some upgrading to my cars and as I was about to pull out of my garage the game freezes. I turn off the XBOX and turn it back on and when I get back on I have all the money I had before I bought the house and upgraded my cars, but I still had the house and upgraded cars. So I basically just got all that stuff for free... lol.

Yep... same happened to me. Once again a Rockstar patch has f*cked up as much as its fixed. I should be level 12 and I'm not gonna play until I'm put back where I was. Plus I'm gonna spam Rockstar support with emails until its fixed.

On PS3 I can't do any missions because nobody ever joins them...I do the auto thing but I still almost never get anyone in. And it makes me host almost automotically after clicking 'Join' like it can't find one to join or something..

Anyone else have this issue?

Is anyone else not having any character progress save?

 

I've been playing with my friends and have gotten from level 13 to 16, and went back online to see the data (including money) was not saved. I then continued to play and regain level 16, only to later leave and come back to find reset. Took my frustration out in deathmatch and won a game without any deaths and used the "Leave GTA online" just to see if anything saved - nope.

 

Kicker is my buddies kept all their levels and cash through all that.

 

tl;dr - Went from level 13 to 16 to 13 to 16 to 13 and the "all your character data will be saved" and the orange "syncing with rockstar social club" is not true.

 

edit: This is on the 360.
