GTA Online Technical Issues

Well it's getting to the point where it's comical now. The new character I created, after my level 6 one got deleted yesterday, has been standing in a parking lot waiting for the race to start for about 30 minutes now

 

In-game days have come and gone, many another player too, but he's still standing there. I sure hope he'll make it to that race eventually

 

Well at least this new character got to keep the money I collected yesterday. Although it would have been easier if I didn't have to do this bloody tutorial again.

My biggest problem with GTA Online has been the load times between a mission and free roam. Every time it loads, I have thoughts have the game delete my character or something.

 

Oh and trying to get into another person's game, 80% of the time I can't do it. It keeps telling me it's failed, it gets pretty f*cking annoying trying to get into a game when someone invites you to it. Especially when you or your friend are trying to do those 2 man missions.

I'm also unable to join my friends' games. What's your NAT Type? (Network Settings --> Internet Connection Test) Mine is 3 which is what I believe to be the problem.

I honestly down know why people are even bothering with it, just accept the fact that its not working.

Give it a few weeks, or wait for rockstar to say the problems have been fixed, until then just go to work, socialise, or visit pornhub.

i got in after 2 days of trying about 3 hrs ago been playing and stuff seems very smooth once your on...except youll be driving down the road and cops start comming after you for no reason very annoying!

Cops will chase you in any stolen car.

I'm really wondering why they didn't just make the whole tutorial optional. Surely it would have been fine to let people skip the whole thing if they didn't want to bother with it. Now I have to do the whole bloody thing again, that is when I finally manage to get online again.

Can someone explain how weapons work? I always have a pistol but i have to keep buying guns as they always disappear, and has anyone else had a huge problem with money vanishing?

i can walk away from the race marker, can level up by mugging people but not much else,cant pause the game even.

well u lucky the..my charaster franklin walks by the blue circle by him self..then the car appears..he like offers me to get in but then him and car is gone..cant walk or move or do enything..after 10 of all this it puts on the city mode and right bottom corner says looking for other players..playing on xbox 360

Follow them on Twitter and/or Facebook or another gaming source. Or better yet, look out for their status page that was linked on page 16 or 17 of this thread.

 

When they say,

 

"Hey, we are finally calming down now from laughing at all of the ill fated attempts at trying to join. The tears in our eyes are now dissipating and the muscles in our abs are now relaxing. So we are now going to allow everyone access to our three servers (we initially bought one, but we now think two more will suffice.) So have fun!"

 

Then you can go play online. Until then, why bother???

Not sure if this problem has been said here already:

 

So i've got no problems with playing online. I can join each session easily. Didn't try to do any jobs though..

But when I want to join a friends session, he gets kicked, and I get a timed-out session. Every time again ! When he tries to join me, he gets errors, I just get nothing... Anyone knows why?

@Ruckus, I honestly think it's random. First day of release I waited 20-30 minutes then went to the Xbox dashboard, retried logging in online waited 20 minutes and go in to play the tutorial. Second day, I got in after 5 minutes of waiting. Although, the only thing I did differently was I installed GTA on my hard drive to load faster. I doubt that helped but who knows.

Was FINALLY able to get past the first race last night. My first character always got stuck on the blurry city image, so I created a new character and after a couple of attempts got to the screen with the blue bars at top and other players coming and going. After about 10 minutes of sitting there the race finally started with just me and Lamar. Finished it no problem, finished second tutorial no problem until the final cutscene when it glitched and I had to do the mission over again. After that I was in free roam without incident.

I was looking forward to gta online but it's such a mess I dont think I am going to bother with it. Character deletion is beyond annoying. Whoevers f*cking idea that tutorial sh*t was also should be shot. Worst release in my 22 years of gaming. Inexcusable to release in such a state. f*ck rockstar.

I'm guessing guys are actually getting on more now that the posts have litened up some. I have not tried to get on today. I just have a feeling that its still going to be a no go even when I go home later today. Going to be fun to try to start when I'm level 1 and someone one else is level 20 plus. I'm kinda dissapointed at the whole ordeal. I mean, I really thought that my love for this game would follow through even after I got my Xbox One. That I would have both systems side by side. Switching off from GTAV to say Watch Dogs. But now I think I'm going to just put it in the closet, meaning the whole damn console. I really have no drive now to even play online GTAV as much anymore. My friends in the same town just hit level 20 and now I'm suppossed to be in his crew when it comes up and running. Frade not for me. Closet time for GTAV. I hope

Now im not hating on them and I know things happen that you cant predict but after you sell 1billion wouldnt you think you may need to beef up this online? Its not like the online was a launch day thing theyve had 2 weeks. I just dont believe they didnt know or expect the traffic..I mean they sold 1 billions worth!!!!!! My first interaction with a human play awhile ago for TD. Guy was a good sport and even though I beat the guy he gave me the thumbs up. Hoping there are more people like this. It was adrenaline packed, even for just a one on one.
Seems like servers are improving. Still kind of surprised I can play normally even though I have sh*tty internet from a 3rd world country lol.

Do a lot of people still can't get in? I still can't get a lot of people to play with

After I got home (approx 6pm EST) I went on. My character was gone, which I completely expected. So I quickly made a random character because I knew his life span would not last without the cloud server being active, which it was not. I was shot straight into a free roam with about 8 other players. I gotta admit, it was fun stealing cars, dodging cops and finding others online to shoot. I made a point to not do anything else other than shoot people. I knew anything I did with a car, rep, etc would not take stay saved. I plan on creating a new character to keep when all of the problems are fixed and the cloud is back up.

 

Is the cloud back up for Xbox? How are all of the Xbox players doing right now?

It worked like wonders on my Xbox. I was playing with my crew yesterday night, and everything was working great. So I'm guessing that the issues are slowly getting worked upon.

It's still not fixed and you can count me in those hundreds!

Even when it's "fixed" I doubt I'll spend another penny on any rockstar game, disappointed since GTA4 was released and STILL. The whole Online thing feels improvised. It sucks dirty balls if you ask me.

What people just don't seem to understand is, it's not a matter of money. Sure they can buy a load of servers but it's not that simple. They have to make the entire game stable enough for millions of players to be on at once. Seeing how 200% more people bought this game compared to the others I'm sure they weren't anywhere ready. It'll be a while but you and I both know this game will be sick once it's stable enough. Give it time and be patient.

I was in a chat with about 10 guys all playing without problems last night. I have tried the first race w/ Lamar 100 times over the past 3 days with no luck. I've tried all the posted tricks etc. At this point I'm just waiting for them to say it's all fixed instead of wasting my time.

 

Hell the Xbox One may be out before I get to play online. Then I won't even care about it anymore.
