GTA Online Technical Issues

So I had to quit after that. Upon restarting the game it's forgotten all of my online info except for the crew I joined for some reason. How many people got their character back after losing it?

I got mine back after "losing" it once. That was today about six hours ago. The servers have been down all evening basically, so now I can't select my character but hopefully I'd get it back again as soon as the servers go up.

 

And someone was playing recently on PS3 here? So maybe it works.

 

yea thats me. i had to go to class (in college) and since i dont dare quit the server, i set the controller down with the right stick pressed to give controller input while im gone. GTAO kicks idle players after 15 mins or so. hopefully i am still in the game when i get out of class at 4:00 Est

 

EDIT: the only problem i can report with the game now is that i have nobody to do missions with, so im stuck robbing liquor stores lol

 

Well now we know why all the servers are full. Lol

I can't play ANY missions. Whenever I accept one it starts just fine but about 2-3 seconds in it says 'MISSION FAILED'!

 

This happends in every mission I start. I've tried logging out and back in, turning off my Xbox and even waiting a couple hours before logging back in. Nothing helps.

 

I can play Deathmatch and Race fine but no missions work! Any way around this?

After losing my character that I spent 2 hours building up last night, I will definitely wait until they can get it running properly to try again ... I cant stand to watch that opening scene AGAIN !!

I've been trying since yesterday afternoon, periodically trying every couple hours i can only get to the First Race where Han is then im stuck Looking for Others... Xbox 360..

 

P.S. i love your font, it make my eyes feel like they are having an Orgasm LoL what font are you using

 

 

Comic sans MS ... It might have been something non related, but I found that my best success with getting online was when I noticed the braswaq stock market was up and running in story mode ... Also, I think they fixed the lcn stock market too, I saw a significant change in Air EMU stocks after blowing up their planes !!

I was not very upset about the server issues and not being able to get online. I was totally prepared for all of this. But, the one thing that gets my blood boiling is the fact that all my xbox live friends are able to get online and play with absolutely no problems at all. What the *%$&??? I can't even begin to comprehend the logic behind this.. How can some people have no problem at all getting online, yet I have 0% chance every time I try? And no they're not lying, they're gaining achievements..

After several attempts and many instances of getting stuck at the first race I was able to finally complete the race and the following drug mission. I have to say the drug mission was a good indicator of gtao being what I hoped it would be, three of us teamed up to kill some dudes and steal their drugs. Unfortunately it froze after the cut scene and I had to quit back to the dashboard. Then the weirdness started. I tried again only to find my character had been deleted, I made a new one and as the intro was starting again my character got dropped ftom the sky behind the vinewood sign. I was able to free roam but no missions were available as it said I hadn't completed the tutorial missions. Anyone else had this?

OH gotchya. I'm working so waiting to hear good news of everyone getting on. Not just random people or getting on then characters are getting deleted, lockups, etc.

If they wanted to kick idle players after 15 minutes and then why put apartments in? What better place to be idle? Doesn't make sense. I think the kicks were just glitches.

 

I did have one. An apartment, two car garage, the whole nine. Tiny place, but the cars were cool. Then BAM kick out and everything gone.

 

At least I kept the rank I was at. The thing is I inadvertently paid actual green to get the apartment just to see how it works. Guess I found out the hard way. But nonetheless What's a few bucks. Losing it all was hard to swallow. But what the eh.

 

It's fun when it's working tough. I'll be anyones getaway driver. Won't gain me anything but it's fun.

Same. I was playing Online absolutely fine about 3 hours ago, left for the gym, come back and now they're offline. Damn kiddies coming back from school.

Okay, so I was in a game lobby, playing all fine and dandy when my friend invited me to his current game, because he had an error with trying to play missions. So I join and my game freezes; stuck in a loop similar to the one with the race; so I dashboard. And ever since that, I have been unable to connect to Rockstar's cloud servers.

 

Anybody else had this problem? I have been trying for 3 hours now and I still can't connect to the cloud servers.

i leveled up to rank 9 last night and made sure i saved an then re loaded my character to check that it saved and it so i got off and when i got on today my character drop from being rank 9 to rank 4 but i kept all my money earned and all the unlocks that i got from ranking up to rank 9. I want to know why this happen and if i can get my rank put back to level 9 and also want to know if this has happened to anyone else yet and to bring it to rockstars attention that this has happened

And that update didn't even say anything. when they don't at least keep us in the loop I feel like they are saying "We have your money nothing you can do about it so why should we care?". And normally I understand online games suck at start, but they had 2 weeks they know how many were sold. If this was going to be the case just release online at start so I could play single player while its fixed.

I honestly find it so bizarre that rockstar had 2 weeks and over a billions dollars to work with, and they still couldn't fix this sh*t in time. It's almost disgraceful to say that atleast call of duty has their servers working from day one and rockstar might not get their sh*t together until tomorrow at the earliest.... Pretty sad but still worth the wait, I suppose.

So i played it fir a while.and now when i start it up again,my rank is still the same but my killing stats etc are reset. Whats up with that?

Yeah that is immediately the most annoying fact ever done by Rockstar. When I twitter to the staff I do not ever get a response while I said that they had to keep us informed about what the status is and that the last time they did an update was about 20 hours ago. It's getting so ridiculously annoying that I'm prepared to throw my pc out of the window xDDD
