GTA Online Technical Issues

There are issues with GTA Online being accessible due to the high volume and demand on the servers. Please just be patient until things get resolved.

 

In the meantime feel free to discuss any workarounds to get GTA Online working.

Thanks, I did try posting but it got locked regarding the Alert: Failed to host session. I guess that is because it is so busy. I'll just keep trying!

Those on ps3 network dont play for live the online network is harder to access. Rockstar is currently buying servers and making them ready.. xbox is fair to ok. Thongs will be better.

Absolutely peachy, just signed in and all my stats were reset, money, clothes you name it. If it can't synchronise with the cloud dont bother playing at all...

Mine says the same thing, it says keep trying. I eventually got to connect, i ended up making my own character, got to the intro then near the blue circle, before you have to commence to do the race. Suddenly boom it disconnected, its common sense that these things will happen at launch, does not bother me one bit.

i can walk away from the race marker, can level up by mugging people but not much else,cant pause the game even.

I can get into the spot with the racer marker but I auto walk to it. I normally get failed to host session but instead of going to the character wheel press pause and go to online and pick closed session or single session. That is if you just want to mug people and level a bit. And if you've already done the first race as it will try to find people to join but can't because of the type of session

Same here. That's one of the problems i have as well, can't access the menu. I thought maybe it was a controller problem, but if you have it, guess it's one of the issues as well. Oh well, Launch day for anything will have issues. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Ya its one thing to have some issues here and there but this is unplayable for everyone. But no point in even trying right now unless you feel like creating new characters over and over again.

so because gta online hasn't got off to a good start, never buy a game from them again? that's the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard haha made me laugh, I guess because the online isn't working the single player story mode is sh*t now? makes sense.

Yes, this happened for me with both character slots on the Xbox 360 version when I was able to connect.

ps3, still failing to create host on gtao proper. Made new progress on Invitation and Solo modes, but in some ways it's worse now. Before I never got the blue circle. Now I get the blue circle each time, the car drives up, then I get "failed to join job or activity" error, followed by "there has been an error joining a session." Then I'm kicked back to main game.

 

Progress? I guess.
